Are you is support of Medicaid to help support these children? Are you willing to have your taxes increase to take care of this increased birth rate?

If bans on abortions keep up, drug companies will develop an abortion pill, effective for weeks after conception, that can be purchased over the counter. Wait for it and know that those easy and private pregnancy termination pills were developed in response to actions taken by pro-lifers to end choice.

I'm fine with abortion rights by state. But red states that make abortion illegal should not force the rest of the country to support the result. Red states want to force births and Trump is helping them do it by going after Planned Parenthood. They just need to find a way to pay for the increased welfare, reduced lunches, overpopulated schools and more people than jobs. Every single day Republicans look more like A Handmaid's Tale.

My best friend in high school had an backroom abortion. She developed a horrible infection and ended up having a hysterectomy at the age of 17. This was in 1963 in California.

The wealthy girls in my high school went to their family doctor who with a wink and a nod and a few hundred dollars would perform the abortion and write it up as a D&C.

Classic example. Laws against abortion and Planned Parenthood mostly affect the poor and only result in more babies born into poverty.

So, to be clear, if the right-wing, religious nuts have their way and make women basically slaves to their wombs again, I assume the far-right will be stepping up and increasing funding to deal with all the poverty this is going to cause, right?

*crickets*

Oh, yeah - that's right... the far-right only cares about the "rights" of a fetus. Once you're born, to heck with you, especially if you're poor, black, gay, Muslim, etc.

Hypocrites. This is nothing but using religion to justify law, which is expressly forbidden by the 1st Amendment and a fundamental violation of everything this nation represents. I hope the clowns in Iowa and any other states considering this get exactly the suffering they deserve for such traitorous actions.

That is absolutely false. Abortion is not the only service provided by PP, and for many women it is the most accessible facility for affordable contraception. The people who would have to try to take care of PP clients if PP closes have stated that they cannot absorb those patients.

Roe v. Wade could be reversed and every PP in the country could close and there would still be abortions. There were abortions before Roe v. Wade and before PP ever existed. Close PP and reverse Roe v. Wade and women who can afford it will still get abortions. They will just travel to another country. Women who cannot afford to travel will get on the internet and buy the medications used for medical abortion - or resort to the methods that made women sterile or killed them before Roe v. Wade.

There are no barriers to accessible BC. None. It's a myth. Show me the millions of women who just can't get BC, have no idea where to go, just can't make it to the clinic or the thousands of stores across the country that sell OTC BC.
https://www.glamour.com/story/20-mil...-contraception

"And according to a new study by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, nearly 20 million American women ages 13-44 in need of publicly funded birth control lack access to clinics that provide it."

PP's only function is to get women in so they can have abortions. 90% of pregnant women that come in have abortions. So how good is PP at family planning? Pretty poor I'd say.
How totally illogical. If PP's "only function is to get women in so they can have abortions" why offer contraceptive services at all?

Since PP does not offer obstetric services, why would women who intend to continue a pregnancy go to PP at all? Do you have a source for that 90% figure? Perhaps the 10% (assuming your figure is correct) who did not have an abortion changed their minds about doing so after they spoke with a PP counselor? How good PP is at family planning would not be reflected in the number of women who come in seeking an abortion, since some, perhaps many of them, had never used PP's family planning services.

So let's call it like it is ... an abortion business. It's where the money comes from. Without the cash from abortions it owuld not be able to keep it's doors open.

Each PP facility has a monthly abortion quota.

You read that right. They have to hit their numbers. So they need to counsel women into getting abortions.

Have you ever attended a counseling session for a woman who comes in to discuss abortion at PP?

Quote:
You said coersion, right? How about a suggesting only 1 option to a customer, and appealing to her emotional side telling her what a great decision it is?
Since PP counselors cover all options, not just abortion, that statement is false.

Quote:
Edit to ADD: 650 clinics that perform HALF of all abortions. Half. At 650 clinics. Its an ABORTION business.
Edit to ADD again: They also get bonuses if they have a "great" month. More abortions = more $$ for staff.
What's truly sick is you will say this is a lie. It's not. It's horrifying and inhumane and disheartening and just heartbreaking .... but it is not a lie.

Conservatives say an influx of right-leaning judicial appointments under President Trump could make it a possibility."

"Not a single Democrat voted for the bill, which means not a single Democrat has a problem with killing a baby with a heartbeat."

The democrat party is the party of death for sure.

Call off the Drama Llama there Church Lady! We ALL know that when those kids are born, and if their parents are struggling financially, that YOUR party of Benevolence will pizz and moan about YOUR tax dollars going to help those lives, that, when in the womb, mattered, but no longer do.
You LOVE em in the womb, hate em in the room, and think they deserve the tomb!!

Only a democrat could couch stopping baby murder as "government interference".

This bill will not stop abortion, it will return it to seedy backrooms where women's health will be endangered and self-righteous twits will pat themselves on the back for having moved it there.
Women can stop "endangering" their health by avoiding sex if they can't afford or don't want the resulting baby (recommended).

Moreover, they can avoid endangering themselves if they have the baby. When they begin to maneuver to plan a murder, their health isn't exactly society's first moral priority.
