Liberal indoctrination in classroom politics is no myth. 39% of colleges have 0 Republican professors

No wonder the little tikes are turning in to communist.

IDK

There is a lack of diversity.
What is the best way to correct that ?
AA maybe, anything else ?
The left has been very concerned with diversity and correcting it. I was wondering how they might find a solution. Hopefully there is more than one solution.

Post secondary education should change.

For the vast majority, the primary goal is an increase in their worth to future employers, not "expanding their minds" in some hippy form of the word. County colleges should offer the top 10ish stand alone (does not require masters) fields bachelors degrees. The degree should read [state] University. Perhaps combine it with distance learning at the 300 and 400 level courses by top people actually in the field. Imagine management 401 taught by Mulally or Eng 401 class by the ASME award winner etc...

People who have post-graduate education tend to be liberal. Professors need to have post-graduate education. I think that encouraging more conservatives to pursue the type of education needed to become a college professor is just going to lead to more liberals, not more conservative professors.

Just an indication that liberals are better educated than conservatives and more likely to become college professors.

Maybe there is another reason for this. Perhaps Republicans are not smart enough to become professors .

Think about it.

39% have no 'registered' Republican professors.

So there could be osme that are Republican and they aren't going to answer to it.

So -- even less maybe than 39%

Hardly a majority.

Better educated, perhaps, but the associated cost of going the career in academics route is perpetual financial struggle.

Again, especially regarding the latter and other similar cases, as I mentioned in another thread, the problem is lack of a valuable skills set.

Why should it even matter?

I doubt universities should be asking prospective professors what their political leanings are just to try to even out how many staff they have of each political persuasion

Besides, part of the reason could be the fact that most people with Post Graduate degrees lean left/vote Democrat. Until there are more Republicans going on to post graduate degrees, there is bound to be a discrepancy. This isn't the fault of the universities or the system.
