How about we pay Nick Saban $100,000 and divide the rest of his $5,000,000 among the team? Better yet, let Auburn and Alabama bid for the ***** recruits.

Pay them what they're worth.

If they want to skate by with the easy college classes, they can CHOOSE to do so.

The athletes that are the superstar players and are actually driving up the revenues for the schools, are the ones most likely to get paid due to all the exposure (ala, the result of reviving this thread- the player in question got drafted and will make millions). Be honest, over half the team, the bench players, are pretty replaceable and are not responsible for the $ millions/billions that schools are generating, yet they receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in FREE tuition that they can CHOOSE to use to get a FREE education. The star players are really the ones responsible for generating the schools revenue, and they are the ones who will have a decent shot at going pro and making big money (ie the player we’re talking about in this thread who got drafted and will make millions).
False. Athletes get 4 year of basket weaving. Look at the shenanigans NC did with its basketball team. I won't even go into Nick Pitino with the whores and strippers.

Behind every championship team there is a scandal waiting to be uncovered. And the biggest scandal of all is not paying the players.

WRONG AGAIN!!! Athletes who CHOOSE to do 4 years of basket weaving, can usually get away with doing so if that's what they CHOOSE to do. Some athletes (the smart ones) CHOOSE to get a real degree, like Myron Rolle from FSU who graduated from medical school, and is now a Neurosurgery Resident at Harvard:

The problem is that many athletes, don't realize the opportunity they have, and CHOOSE to major in basket weaving instead of CHOOSING a real major. Nobody is FORCING athletes to major in basket weaving. Myron Rolle could have taken the easy way out, but instead worked hard and took advantage of his opportunity. That is a lesson that can be applied to everyday people's lives as well.
