A good summary of where the deep state and establishment liberals are today. FYI - I do not include regular middle class Democrat voters as establishment liberals.

The Trump Land Mine

Give it credit, the Washington apparat quite imaginatively pulled out all the stops: implanting Obama holdover appointees all over the Trump executive branch; filing lawsuits and judge shopping; organizing the Resistance; pursuing impeachment writs; warping the FISA courts; weaponizing the DOJ and FBI; attempting to disrupt the Electoral College; angling for enactment of the 25th Amendment or the emoluments clause; and unleashing Hollywood celebrities, Silicon Valley, and many in Wall Street to suffocate the Trump presidency in its infancy.

But now the administrative state’s multifaceted efforts are starting to unwind, and perhaps even boomerang, on the perpetrators. If a federal judge should end up throwing out most of the indictments of Paul Manafort on the rationale that they have nothing much to do with the original mandate of the special counsel’s office, or if Michael Flynn’s confession to giving false statements is withdrawn successfully because the FBI politicized its investigation and FISA courts were misled in approving the surveillance of Flynn, then the Mueller investigation will implode.

...
Donald Trump proved to be a catalyst for much of the implosion of the deep state. Land mines require careful handling. Only arrogant naïfs think that they can rush in, grab them, and carelessly and safely toss them away — clueless that they themselves are exposed as reckless moments before they blow themselves up.

...
the custodians of the status quo arrogantly grabbed up the Trump land mine and thought they could easily toss it away — as it has blown them sky-high.

The article also mentions the NFL, ESPN, the White House Correspondents Dinner, #MeToo, Silicon Valley, the propaganda news media, and Hollywood as examples of industries and groups that are imploding.

That's about as perfect a response as possible.
Didn't even want to check the link. Was it Zerohedge, or that shirtless leather jacket wearing hillbilly that gets linked to all the time here?

The story is pure propaganda pushed by a extremist right wing KOCH, Bradley, DeVos think tank...
National review, is part of the State Policy Network.
(a right wing umbrella for propaganda)

National review, was founded by William F Buckley jr, (extreme right wingnut)

National review is funded by the KOCH Family (mega rich family that owns the freedom caucus )

National review is funded by the hard right Bradley family

National review employs John Bolton is part of this crew too, his is one of their mouth pieces...

National review board of trustees. DEVOS family. Dick DeVos Betsy's husband is a board member

so tell me again my right wing friends, why anyone outside of the Trump bubble would believe a word coming from this propaganda machine?
KOCH, BOLTON DEVOS BRADLEY

Donald Trump's inability to keep it in his pants appears to be a land mine to Donald Trump's criminal enterprises.

I always knew conservatives were authoritarian and with the Trump cult this confirms it all. They view Trump as their "leader" everyone should always bow down to him and treat him as the "king". Any miniature criticism of Trump is "fake news" part of the "deep state"...

Republicans have always been about projection. They would love Trump as president and with his minions in Congress for life and the base would love it. Republicans only believe the constitution is for white, straight, conservative people - comes as no surprise since hate radio and fox news has been telling their base the liberals are evil, anti-American for decades etc

... The Bavarian Illuminati, The Discordian Society, The UFOs, The Servants of Cthulhu, The Bermuda Triangle, and The Gnomes of Zürich, to say nothing of the Society of Assassins, The Network, the Church of The SubGenius and Shangri-La.

In all fairness, he was an intellectual giant compared to the rest of the list. Imagine him in a conversation with Betsy DeVos...

Also, if he knew what National Review has been turned into, he'd spin in his grave.
