Trump just banned bump stocks. They may be mostly worthless, but he pandered to the gun grabbers.

Trump and the GOP just passed Fix NICS, which is an infringement.

Uh, really? You do realize the AK is the most mass produced , most widely used, and most copied assault rifle on the planet...right?

Those under the belief these are not easily available in the US are only fooling themselves!

We agree on most everything, but I quibble with referring to the rotation of the cylinders as "semiautomatic." In proper semiautomatic, the weapon uses some portion of the energy of the fired round to a) eject that spent casing and b) load a new round into the chamber where that last round was fired.

Revolvers do not eject their casings and you are not reloading a chamber, you are cycling through the loaded chambers. None of the energy of a fired round gets used for ejecting casings or reloading a chamber.

Small, nitpicky quibble, but very important to make the distinction, since finding even the most tenuous connection could see revolvers on the "need to be banned" list alongside semiautomatics.

And I refuse to vote in the poll, as no weapon of any class should be banned because no natural right should be abridged.

"Common sense gun control" is an oxymoron. What part of "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" is too complicated to understand?

Banning is the subject of the thread.

But it’s irrelevant, same thing applies to extra steps, longer waiting periods etc.

When you target a particular weapon or type of weapon for increased regulation, another will take it’s place as the go to weapon of choice for those who wish to do harm to others.

Two revolvers and a few speed loaders can be equally devastating in a closed environment like a school classroom.

And if someone is bent on shooting a bunch of people, making them wait another week isn’t going to change their plans.

If that pisses them off, I'll suggest that they aren't exactly stable individuals themselves.
Extra fees, charges for storage, none of which stop criminals from getting firearms. These are all things that will cost the law abiding $ and will do zero to prevent gun crimes.

You know, the usual "common sense" stuff being tossed around. Making someone wait a bunch more days to pick up a firearm isn't going to all of a sudden make them an angel. There is zero logic around any of this.

There is still nothing keeping a criminal from legally walking into a gun store and buying everything they need to commit a crime. Nothing. They won't have to wait, pass a back ground check, absolutely nothing. Anyone can simply watch some youtube videos to figure that out.

But back on topic, if people only knew that bans don't actually "ban" anything.
