this is even more pathetic than the infamous pop-tart incident. and it happened in texas

Quote:
Handcuffed and hauled away. It happened Monday to a 5th grade autistic student at Conroe Independent School District's Bozman Intermediate school.

The offense alleged against 12-year-old David Sims is brandishing an "imaginary" rifle at his art teacher, an educator who apparently felt threatened.

"She (CISD Police Officer) just put handcuffs on me and told me I need to go with her," said David Sims.

"They just said, 'We don't tolerate that. We take it as a threat.' A threat? He didn't threaten anyone. He didn't do anything but play," said Amy Sims, David's mother.

"We want to get them turned around and on the right path," said Lambright.

What's the wrong path? Letting kids be kids?

so now we have people who wet their panties at imaginary weapons, wonderful. perhaps we now need imaginary gun control laws to along with the real ones?

i remember part of a carlin skit where he said that people wanted to get rid of the fake guns and keep the real ones.

The teacher was frightened by the imaginary gun.
Has the world gone nuts?

How dare you point that AR15 thumb and index finger at me. Or was it a glock.

Overboard.

My son, who has autism and ADHD, got in trouble at school for making his hands into guns and drawing his comic book characters with guns.

The teacher and resource officer should be fired.

I have a wife and two daughters all teachers so I care about them and their safety but I will say this now that is BS.

I think we feel the same level of respect for teachers and I totally agree. Its just ridiculous. Luckily he wasn't suspended but he was sent to the Dean of Students over these "incidents" and was punished by being denied recess.
