ETA: Also, billions certainly hasn’t been proven.
There are institutions, Forbes for example, dedicated to track these rich people. In US, it is impossible to fool others with your wealth.

Rachel Meadows released one tax return and it showed the validity of his wealth estimate.

Because what he said was wrong. Please see my rebuttal.

Maybe...just maybe there were certain promises made in exchange for financing.

I wonder what they could be...

Listen to yourself: Trump is a lifetime swindler and no domestic bank would do business with him but somehow the Russians would lend him money based on promises from the lifetime swindler.

How stupid the Russians need to be?

I say this with the utmost sincerity.
Well, I'd rather have Trump "taking advantage of me" the way he has done the past two years than the way your socialist president and friends took advantage of me the previous eight years.

Do you fail to understand basic economics?

He started with somewhere between 40 and 100 million from the Parents (their companies were valued at about 250 and he got at least 1/4, probably more)...

Let me make this VERY simple.

If he would have taken that money and invested it in a mutual fund and not touched it, it would be worth TWICE what he is now. Therefore, he lost 50% (from 6 billion to 3 billion) of what he would have if he didn't open one Casino or go bankrupt, etc.

If he would have invested it in Warren Buffet, he'd be worth 180 BILLION - therefore, all his cons did was let him lose 177 BILLION in potential wealth.

The real simple answer as to where he got his money is that Daddy and Mommy gave it to him. Since that time he has proven a poor steward of it, not even anywhere near as if he invested it in the DOW or S&P.

He's also a serial liar - among his many other faults. So when he was claiming to be worth over a billion, a reporter wrote a book showing how he was worth a small fraction of that. Trump sued and had to produce a tax return or two and other documents - Trump lost. So he is an official liar.

His investments have lagged behind every and any index...and certain FAR behind those of successful investors. Unless your definition of success is "thousands of lawsuits, bankruptcies and the King of Debt and lots of women", then your statement is false.

But, then again, we don't expect "the uneducated" to understand that the worker on the assembly line at GE ended up making a vastly larger return on their money (invested in stock). The only difference with Trump is he started off with that 100 million or so (by 1975)....

He is, by most accounts, a failed businessperson. That is how most people would judge someone who had to file bankruptcy many time, who has a long list of failed companies, who stiffed investors and contractors and who - most important - after all that FAILED to even beat the market.

But isn't this thread about how the middle class and poor are going to hurt with higher interest rates and fuel prices?

The Russians are not stupid because

1. They have unlimited money which they steal from their populace and then invest overseas.
2. The money purchased many many favors...which will be ongoing for generations. This includes the Anchor Babies being born in Trump properties in Florida, etc.

When money is free (and it is to Russian oligarchs), the normal rules don't apply. If they steal 10 billion and end up with 5 billion in American Real Estate and also help swing elections, they are way ahead of the game.

Same here. As long as the federal government stays out of my face, I will. And it has been doing that more and more lately, and in the cases where they were in my face, the current leadership has been undoing the damage done previously. So, although I'm no huge fan of Trump, I'm certainly not going to bite the hand that "feeds me" (in saying "feeds me" I'm using the typical old saying, but in this case "feeding me" means leaving me the hell alone).
