It matters a LOT which Palestinians you listen to. Most of the Palestinian people actually don't want to attack Israel. They don't care one way or the other about Israel. They'd be perfectly fine if they and Israel never had anything to do with each other, and each simply went on living their own lives, raising their kids etc.
It's the minority of Palestinian fanatics , and most of the their PLO government, who want to keep attacking and murdering Jews. They are the ones responsible for the violence over the embassy today.
If history has taught us anything, it is the leaders of people who are all too often to blame for what the people really don't want. This makes doing right by the Palestinians DESPITE their leadership all the more difficult, true. However, there need not be all the actions for a long time now that only inspire that leadership to fight back in whatever ways it knows how, and that also inspires the support of the Palestinian people who will eventually ultimately agree "enough is enough!"
Again and again, new recruits being inspired every day, with each parent or sibling that gets killed or maimed, every friend that shared a meal one day and takes a bullet the next...
Right. Why should anyone expect anything different?

They are not second class citizens, nor are they any other type of citizens. They are Palestinians, who could have their own country if they hadn’t turned it down so many times. They could have had their own infrastructure, if they hadn’t wasted all of their aid on bombs and terror tunnels. Just because they refuse to have their own separate country, doesnt mean that Israel has to treat them like Israeli citizens.
Israeli Arabs, on the other hand, are treated very well and are very happy to be Israeli citizens.
Actually, under Apartheid, only whites had citizenship in Sud Afrika
We should NOT have enemies between the two sides. In order to achieve peace - the US is SUPPOSED to be acting like a neutral peace maker.
The problem is, to make peace between two sides, both side MUST be desirous of making peace.
With this Israel/Palestinians conflict, Israel wants peace, but the Palestinian govt and its fanatics do not. Their goal is the complete annihilation of Israel, no less. And the Palestinian fanatics will never agree to anything that might permanently stop the fighting.

Guess that cover is fully blown.
My son visited Israel - which he loved and he stated at an Airbnb with a young hostess - who he really enjoyed. I guess she showed them all the fun bars, etc. But he DID say that she told them they are raised to hate Palestinians and indoctrination starts early. He said as long as they were there; he would never say one good thing about a Palestinian because he didn't want to make her mad.

And Israel feels the same way, as long as the Palestinians would quit their constant attacks.

When the PLO was first formed, it had a section of their charter that explicitly called for the annihilation of Israel. And despite years of diplomacy, pressure, negotiations etc., they have never removed it. It still calls for the complete destruction of Israel today.
A good statement/sentiment. I agree.
I do feel for those people living in the Gaza Strip, with almost 2 million people literally trapped in that small area, of which some 1.3 million are 'refugees'. No wonder the young men (and women) grow up ready to engage in violence.
Yet, it is beyond me to suggest anything that would solve the problem. Israel exists, as it should, and they do not want to allow these Palestinians to move back within their own small border, making the Israeli a minority in their own country. Yet, the Palestinians likewise have a right to exist - somewhere.
I can see where the Palestinians, whom had apparently looked to the United States for decades as acting as a 'neutral' intermediary, are upset that the United States has (to their view) abandoned all pretense of impartiality, and thrown in our whole-hearted support for Israel.
I suppose that at some point a general war will break out in the Middle East, with potentially hundreds of thousands of lives lost, and the maps redrawn to reflect new borders achieved by the victors, whomever that may be.
Yet, we shall hope that Mr. Kushner can come up with a solution to the ills of the Middle East. After all, he is Jewish, and so obviously trusted by the Palestinians, Persians and Arabs of that world.
Do some of you realize that you are defending people who react violently to the erection of a BUILDING? And blaming the people who built that building for the violence to boot? How about recognizing that the Palestinians bear responsibility for reacting violently to moving the embassy. Should the embassy be moved to Jerusalem or not? Tough question, but one that has been answered in the affirmative by the legal representatives of the American people. If it's not a good idea, then how about repealing the law that states that the embassy is to be located in Jerusalem instead of ignoring that law?
In any case, it's a symbolic gesture. It is recognition that Jerusalem is the rightful capital of Israel. It already is the de facto capital, so putting an embassy there doesn't really change anything. Why should people who commit violence over a symbolic gesture be given a pass for their violence. I am sure that if Israel attacked Gaza or the West Bank solely based on a PLO proclamation that Jerusalem rightfully belongs to Palestine, those of you defending the Palestinians now would (rightly!) be singing a different tune.
Can't only blame Trump for now blindly kissing Yahoo's butt when for so long now we've had a Congress bent over to do Israel's bidding no matter what, and why?
Yet another question it doesn't suit us to answer honestly, if we were even able...
