All former presidents had enough intelligence and reserve to forego any announcement or action that would even suggest moving the US embassy to Jerusalem.

However, Trump (being the irresponsible idiot that he is) decides to move the US embassy to Jerusalem, already knowing that the mere announcement caused protests and violence.

If several Palestinians lost their lives from the mere transfer announcement, then there's little doubt that possibly many other lives would be lost later.

Common elementary logic!
Except that you do not credit the Palestinians with the same intelligence and reserve you give former Presidents. So you dismiss a clearly orchestrated and compulsory mass suicide.

I agree Trump should not have moved the embassy to Jerusalem. But is it worth dying for? Where is your scorn for the goons who are compelling these people to march to their death? Why do you not promote peaceful protest or marches in the spirit of Gandhi or MLK?

The crowd that runs Gaza does not simply want East Jerusalem for a future Palestinian state. They want all of Jerusalem and all of Israel with the Jews sent packing.

Common elementary logic? Please.

I didn't. The cause of the human suffering to which you refer is the Palestinians' primitive and savage hatred of Israel and her people, and their inability to restrain their own passions. The effect is the deaths of said Palestinians, brought about by the IDF doing their job by protecting the borders of their country.

The U.S. could have chosen to locate their embassy in Jerusalem, or on top of Yasser Arafat's grave, or on the dark side of the moon, and the outcome would have been the same in any case. It's nothing more than a convenient excuse to riot and cause more needless death and misery.

When was Jerusalem ever the capital of Palestine?

That, in fact, is a trick question, since Jerusalem was never the capital of Palestine, and you can see that on ancient maps going way back when the region had several spelling variations, including Filistine and Falestine, before the spelling became Palestine.

There are plenty of cities the Palestinians can choose for their capital, including several on the coast.

There's no historical or logical reason the Palestinians should choose Jerusalem, and the only reason they do now, is to be divisive.

The sooner the Palestinians get it through their thick skulls that their capital will not be Jerusalem, the sooner the Palestinians can move forward socially, economically and politically.

When the British protectorate was ended, and the State of Israel was created from the partitioning, a combined invasion by Egypt, Jordan and Syria, together with expeditionary forces from Iraq, invaded. The Muslims were warned not to defend their property from fellow Muslim "liberators." Many abandoned their property and fled so as not to be forced to fire on their "brethren" - or be shot by them.

After Israel prevailed, the refugee Muslims were not allowed to return. The refugees were considered members of an aggressor group defeated in a war of its own making. The exodus was a direct consequence of the Muslim's criminal invasion, it was argued. That they refused to defend their lands from Muslim invasion and failed to give allegiance to the new government, illustrated they weren't really victims, but sore losers of a failed Muslim conquest. And still the Palestinians maintain the illusion that they were victims of a Zionist conspiracy to "steal" the lands they abandoned.

Since they cannot win by conventional warfare, they are using psychological warfare, based on fabrication and deception to gain support for their surreptitious conquest of Israel.

It is not working, since the infidels are waking up and disregarding the lies peddled by the jihadis and zealots. Their allegiance is to eternal jihad against all infidels. Their protests are theatrics, not a cry for justice.
