How does moving the embassy there change that?

So that is why the WTC and Pentagon was hit by a plane, why the Beirut Marine barracks were bombed, why the WTC was bombed, Etc , etc.

Its the home of the world’s 3 largest religions. It should be off limits to controlling political entities. The problem isnt having a embassy in the city, the problem is the significance of the move. It promotes Israel as the controlling political entity. As another poster said, if another country moved in to control the Vatican, Catholics around the world would be up in arms. Tough that many of you dont like the Palestinians. They have rights too. The US is full of ****, as usual. And we wonder why terrorists want to destroy us. Its not a secret why. We use to stand up for the worlds underdogs but we havent in a long time. We allow genocide to flourish and we say nothing. Silence says more than action.

Indeed.

The worst part about this: does anyone think Donald Trump actually understands the intricate details of this centuries old feud? Of course he doesn't. Trump doesn't have a friggin' clue.

But Trump wants to get involved in things he doesn't even understand. Just like he did with healthcare (which is why his plan failed multiple times in a republican-controlled Congress)

Jerusalem is a sacred religous place in terms of the Arab world.
This Obama-type leadership here. Making decisions out of fear. Its weakness.

I would be more entertained if people weren't actually going to die over this. Today is just the beginning.

And over nothing. It makes no material diference where our embassy is in Israel. We won't work any more efficiently, save any money, be able to negotiate peace any better. And we were already tight with Israel, so nothing is really gained there either.

This is purely symbolic for us.

Only if you priotitize looking tough above all else.

We are the most powerful nation in the world. We have nothing to prove. Ths embassy was never moved out of pragmatism. The location made no real difference for us but would moving it would just serve to make a bad situation worse for others, so why do it? "Because you can't tell us what to do" is not a reason unless you're 14.

Don't disagree but Still less hypocritical than most nations.

What genocide has the US allowed to "flourish" ? When has genocide occurred where the US said nothing (perhaps done nothing) ?

Terrorists want to destroy the US because they are programed to think that way - which serves the purpose of their programmers.

If the US wants to move the embassy, fine. But knowing full well that it would incite violence and stir up tensions in the Middle East, I would hope the White House could come forward and show what good it will do.

And for Ivanka Trump to pose about 'celebrating' the move today it shows the purposeful actions to ignore the highly volatile situation the USA embassy change has created.

There have been protests for days. It wasn't time to celebrate.

There had to be better wording for a tweet.

Oh wait-- this administration has the poorest communications skills we have ever seen for a White House administration. You wonder how they did get through college. Cough cough --

Who cares that 47 people are dead and 1,731 people are injured so far, including 300+ shot? We knew violence would erupt if we moved the embassy, but who cares?!

Trump got another win! So much winning, baby!
