Couldn't agree with you more. What our ancestors did or didn't do long ago has nothing to do with those of us alive today. We are all individuals and should make our own decisions and form our own points of view and are only responsible for our own actions. You're analogy about slave owners and murderers long ago dead even if they were a part of our family tree were spot on also.
What Lahren's points 1-3 are also spot on.

So. Look, many if not most of those people came with little money to their names, so they HAD to get help somehow. You can’t just move to another country and get yourself established with little money and no help. It ain’t happening...then or now.
Yes, there were no government entitlements, but if there had been and they were available for use, those immigrants would’ve used it. In a heartbeat. European immigrants were no more noble than any other immigrant group. I know better.

Even assuming the genealogists assertions are correct, the interpretation of them is off. With only one of her ancestors does the wording imply that English was not known. I see little issue, unless liberals are now of the opinion that bilingualism is bad.
Moreover: "low skill" has never applied to Norwegians or Germans here, as a broad group. If Mexicans can build the equivalent in Stockholm in Mexico as a display of skill and harmony, then maybe we can begin to speak about comparisons between the two groups. Until then, everyone knows that your comparisons are incomparable.
Most Norwegian and German immigrants had skill sets that are no more useful than Mexicans who come here now have. In fact, they probably had less on average.
The Norwegians and Germans we took weren’t the winners in their home societies. The winners didn’t need to immigrate. The United States is made up of the leftovers from other societies, not the cream of the crop.
But they didn't live on govt. entitlements. They supported themselves. No Food Stamps. No Medicaid. No Public Housing. Etc. That is the critical difference.
I think this is the real issue with immigration. Welfare is expensive and we can’t pay for everybody

So you support totally open borders. She clearly doesn't support that. Why should people gain the right to travel and live anywhere that they want? Why can't a government own land? Why can't a government restrict access to the land claimed by its people? You say only individuals can own land, so do you not recognize land that is jointly owned by multiple parties?
That woman is such a poser. Its SO clear she doesn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. She's doing all of this for money and a career.
