They were, and overruled. Statutes of limitation come with conditions. Mueller knows his stuff.

Maybe the defense hasn't looked into this yet. Luckily Internet lawyers brought it to light.

If it wasn't an issue the Judges wouldn't be ruling on it. Mueller's team wanted to hide their authority and that's not working.
But U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson disagreed, siding with prosecutors who had produced an August 2017 memo from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The memo shows Rosenstein authorized Mueller to investigate Manafort's Ukrainian work and related financial crimes.

First, I would have guessed Ellis would likely deny Manafort’s motion to dismiss on the merits, but I think there is a legitimate argument to be made that the issue is res judicata at this point and Ellis is obliged to defer to Jackson. Secondly, irrespective of what Ellis decides, it will not have an effect on any of the of the charges against Manafort, which are pending before the DC District Court.

Make no mistake, this was a very bad day for Manafort.

Shows the difference between the dems and the repubs.

Repubs BELIEVE a president has the RIGHT to appoint who he wants.

The dems BLOCK EVERY SINGLE NOMINEE.

Then why did we go with only 8 SC judges for over a year?
