China has purchased record amounts of soybeans from Russia in recent months amid trade tensions with the U.S., Bloomberg reported.

The world's biggest soybean importer, China has nearly tripled its imports from Russia, according to Bloomberg. Russian trade data show the country sold 850,000 metric tons of soybeans to China between July 2017 and mid-May this year.
China buys record amount of Russian soybeans after canceling US orders over Trump threats

Putin must be so pleased with his little puppet, Trump has done such a great job of doing his bidding.

So Xi Xinping is Putin's puppet now? For being the head of a country teetering on the edge of Third World status, Putin is one shrewd guy, huh?

Wow, pretending that I didn't say what I said. Yeah, that's a real effective defense of Trump's failed actions. Not.

Farmers usually vote GOP
Trump is screwing his base over....
I don't think this will be ignored at the midterms...

I am listening to the most recent episode of "The Americans"
Claudia is explaining how Gorbochev has no concent of Russian history, how he is trading away his country's power to the US (because he wants to stop the nuclear arms race) and Claudia explains how everything Elizabeth has done has been chosen by a cadre of political insiders that are more hard-line, against peace efforts...

Interesting timing juxtaposed against Trump's efforts to create turmoil in the world...

Soybeans from Russia makes up a small percentage of what China buys, but this is likely expanding. Planting season is just getting underway.

China has halted purchases from U.S., canceling several orders recently, and is sourcing from other nations.

I think it is interesting because I think Russia has trouble growing enough soybeans to feed its own animals/industry requirements
So does Russia need money so much it would sell soybeans it needs for its own food chain???
How badly are the sanctions really cutting into Russia's economy???

Wow--China, with over a billion people, cant harvest their own soybeans? That seems odd that such a technologically backwards country like China would be able to at least master farming...guess not.

This is not helping the right-wing's reputation as partisan hacks who always try to spin their way out of legit issues.

Russia is a net importer of soybeans, these tiny purchases are a poorly choreographed dog and pony show.
