I'm never able to get past the first page. It's exhausting. If I start a thread I will generally read those first. I often go to My Settings and check the Subscribed threads, checking off most for deletion.

Your tips for getting the most out of this forum? There are only so many hours in the day....

I can read insanely fast, and despite that have to prioritize.

1. Some topics arent worth the time to debate. I generally steer clear of climate change topics because the complexity of the topic, and how people like to use completely insane unrelated facts to try and convince others that the vast majority of the people who TRULY know the topic are somehow i this vast conspiracy to deceive us.

2. Some topics are just boring. I know the fact of them, and/or its all about people being outraged.

3. Some topics I have some expertise or high levels of interest. These i prioritize more. If there is a automation topic-odds are that I am there.

4. And after the 400th page its very time consuming to comment on and keep track of everything. I still do sometimes, but honestly...400 pages in whats new usually.

Basically its judgement and interest.

The threads that start with "Conservatives", "Democrats", "Republicans", or "Liberals" are perhaps bound to have a lot of responses fairly quickly. I am likely to go in to that type of thread to the comments and say a relevant but out there smart-ass remark.

interesting topic or regular, smart poster who starts a thread.

Agreed on both points here, I usually:

- skim just the first page
- check for topics of interest
- narrow down by who is the original poster (if OP is very biased or on my ignore list, I may avoid)

I'm suppose to be reading these threads?

I just go down to "Reply to Thread" and tell everyone that I'm right and they're wrong.

That's how ya do it in the big leagues, boys and girls.

Isn't that a violation of the NAP?

If so I'll be applauded around here.

I do have a legit system where I look at my previous posts and see if anyone I specifically asked a question to responded.

Then I tell them I'm right and they're wrong!

I sometimes wonder what is going on in the Trump/Stormy Daniels thread then I remember I'm not in 6th grade and I go to another thread to post my nonsense.

Since I'm not American, I ignored the P&OC threads for the longest of times. Sometimes I wish I could go back to my previous monent of Zen. I guess some things sinpky can't be unseen.
