Typical c-d idiocy.

Yup..and especially ironic given that England was the first of the major powers of the day to outlaw slavery..and used the Royal Navy to apprehend slavers..and in many cases..hang them!

They almost single-highhandedly ended the African slave trade...to the point that almost all slaves being sold by the Civil war were native to North America, South America and the Caribbean.

Odd..that that little factoid was not emphasized.

British traditions and rituals are fascinating to watch and the UK is a classy nation that carries itself well. I didn’t watch much of it but did see some.

Of course when the news stations went back to covering our own news it was not such a good watch. School shooting news of course......back to our reality. We should worry more about why our people are so messed up that folks keep doing this over and over again rather than complain about those Americans fascinated by the British royals. I’ll take the royals any day over what we are becoming in the USA.

Have you ever been to Britain? Trust me, they find your southern culture for the most part anathema to their traditions. Televangelists in Britain? Ha ha. Mega churches? Not on your life. Worship of the Confederacy in Britain? Not on your life. Bible thumpers in Britain? Nope. Wacked out uber conservatism on social issues like you espouse everywhere on this website? Not on your life.

British people fit far more in line with the political liberal thinking and values of us up here in yankee land mr proud southerner. We and they don't wear our religion on our sleeves nor talk about jesus in public.

Tell that to our friend Daniel72 above that just on a thread today said he was proud of confederates fighting for their rights during the Civil War. His views make my skin crawl.

Embarrassingly dumb. As if the cultures are the same and thus various conservative cultures would look the same. You see only what you are trained to and choose to recognize. Britain has plenty of parallel culture, though not the same. And you don' speak for Britain. You barely speak for the people that you put on a pedestal.
