Was called 4 times when I worked; due to my career I was always stricken from serving sometimes by defense, sometimes by prosecutor/plaintiff. Called 3 times since retirement but was never needed (released without seeing inside of a courtroom). Never tried to get out of jury duty, hope to serve one day!

Also, dealing with the people there too. This is just a taste of what I experienced last time.

1. Military vet says he can't be impartial because defendant was black. Asked to leave the room while the judge shames him for not defending the country's values.

2. Woman breaks down crying because she can't understand English and she's missing an important holiday in Islam. Asked to leave.

3. Old dude can't hear out of one ear so he missed a substantial part of the case.

4. Homeless looking dude next to me screams "welcome to America" when case is delayed by 2 hours.

Honestly it was more comical than anything, but I never got reimbursed for parking which sucked.

I've been called several times but the defense attorney always nixes me. Apparently I look like 'Hanging Judge Parker' or something.

The courthouse I'm going to is only about a 5 minute drive away. I can afford to take a little time off from work but most cases don't take long out here in the sticks, and I suspect I won't be needed longer than a day or two even if I do get called to serve in a trial.

All those who supposedly love this country and the Constitution can't be bothered by participating in one of the most important reasons the USA is so special.

SMH

Anything y'all say about Hillary breaking the law or lock her up is complete total Bull chit.

Would you serve on the jury of it were Hillary, The Donald?

Reason could be;

-hassle to commute to and park
-absurdly low pay
-potential issues with employer
-uncomfortable sitting for who knows how long, for who knows how many days
-dealing with other jurors

I don't like the idea of having to decide a person's fate for them.

Now that I have a job that will pay me for jury duty, I wouldn't mind. In theory.

But in practice I'm not too keen on 'serving' under threat of force. And so when they ask me questions, I give them an honest and complete answer.

They've never bothered me further after hearing what I have to say

I "served" once. Total waste of a week.
Got kicked off of every panel by defense attorneys.
