Not surprised China is out-smarting trump.

Among all the trade fights that President Donald Trump has picked, his hand against China is the strongest. That fight has economic, strategic and political logic that his confrontations with Canada, Mexico, Western Europe and Japan lack.

Yet, China seems to be winning.

China says it will cut tariffs on some auto parts and vehicles

China's Finance Ministry has said that it will slash import tariffs on certain vehicles to 15 percent, down from 25 percent.

The announcement, which came Tuesday, also said that tariffs on automotive parts including bumpers and seat belts would fall to 6 percent.

The cuts will be effective from July 1.

The move signifies an attempt to open up the Chinese market to international players.

China was winning already before any negotiations started... let me know when it's done... anything in between seems to be partisan gossip.

WSJ is a fairly right leaning source.

The WSJ is almost regarded as another left-wing rag by Trump supporters. Only Fox and Breitbart are unimpeachable sources according to them! China will own the White House soon after the Donald's "Art of the Chinese Deal" is concluded!

I wouldn't be surprised if he offers ZTE a tax write-off to get back in their good graces! Oh those poor laid-off Chinese workers! Maybe they could get together with the unemployed West Virginia miners and produce coal-powered cell phones!

It's an open secret that Europe, China, and Japan export to the US through Mexico as well. I'm not sure what why one would say that China would be easiest There are a lot of holes in the international system. One feature of TPP was to allow Japan to export more products to the US through other Asian countries with which the US currently has bilateral trade agreements, thereby surpassing existing restrictions..

Yes, but Trump pulled the plug thinking China was in it.

No one has ever negotiated a deal for the American worker. Trump could fail and still win.
So far no one has failed to screw America on a trade deal.
