That’s according to new research presented this week at the 2018 Congress on Obesity in Vienna, Austria. Nearly one-quarter (22%) of the people in the world will be obese by 2045, up from 14% in 2017, and one in eight will have type 2 diabetes, up from 9% in 2017, it concluded.
The US leads the way in the developed world. 75% of adults are overweight/ obese. From the link, " adult obesity exceeds 30% in 20 states and surpassed 35% in 3 states, Arkansas, West Virgina and Mississippi.
No way to reduce US healthcare costs when so many of us are overweight/ obese and growing.
