In fact, a prerequisite for EU membership (which the UK still is - for now, at least) is abolition of the death penalty.

So the title alone is sufficient to call bullsh on the OP. I didn't even have to read the article.
The death penalty in the thread title isn't about the State killing Tommy Robinson, it means Muslim prisoners in his jail. They will kill him if they can.

That's just wiggling out. "Sentenced to Death", in initial statements, always means the legal system sentenced him to death. It says nothing about what the prisoners are considered likely to do to him.

Just admit that the title would be better named "Tommy Robinson Effectively Sentenced to Death". And even them, I'm being generous about it.

Lost a lot of respect for Ben Shapiro. Way to report lazy. From what I've seen Tommy is a good person and Ben lazily uses his clout to tarnish this mans name. Ben sure is dumb sometimes. Hope Ben does his homework and corrects himself on the matter.

What do you think the Court case at Leeds was about, and the police and national crime agency had clearly worked extremely hard to collect the evidence, then submit it to the Crown Prosecution Service in order that the case went before the courts.

One of the main reasons that out's people off giving evidence in Court is media publicity, and in such cases involving children and in rape/sexual assault cases the Judge can put in place some restrictions in order that identities are protected.

Both children had severe brain damage and were terminally ill, and there was no lifesaving procedure in either case, you can read the case notes on-line again they are on the Judiciary and Courts website.

The Police and NCA have dedicated units, and it should be noted that sex trafficking and the sex trade is rife in the US, which also has gangs such as MS-13 and the Mexican mafia running about, and has one of the highest murder rates in the civilised world. I would have thought there were enough problems in the US for you to worry about.

Robinson should have been imprisoned for his actions in Canterbury, but the Judge explained the law regarding confronting, intimadating, harrassing and taking photographs of defendents and others attending court. It was also explained the live downstreaming and comments that could have a negative impact on the impartiality of a trial are contempt of court. The Criminal Justice Act 1925 makes it clear that you can not photograph people going in or out of court.

Judges in the Crown Courts have the power to jail people in urgent situations where a contempt of court may threaten a trial outcome or lead to the collapse of a trial. Normally the procedure involves the CPS and a refferal to the High Court, however due to the suspended sentence for contempt of court and the nature of the case which had restrictions on in to protect witnesses and victims, the Judge used limited powers to jail for contempt and he did this within the strict guidelines imposed by the Attorney General.

As for contempt of Court,it's an offence in the US and Canada has Sub Judice laws, similar to the UK, as do Australia, New Zealand and manyother countries. Just becuase uyou don't understand another countries judicial system does not mean it is wrong.

Has the deadline passed, as I am British and I think you might find the deadline is May 2019.

After which time there may be an extended period if all negotiations are not complete, which is a sensible option when in comes to long and complex negotiations.

How quickly Extrodinary Rendition, Guantanamo Bay, the lack of any due process and legislation such as the patriot act are forgotten.

Lets also not forget the controversy over plea barganing, the US Death penalty, the US Prison population which ac****s for nearly a quarter of all prisoners in the world and of course police shootings in the US, or indeed shootings and gun tragedies full stop in the US. Again I would have thought you had far more pressing things to be concerning yourself with than a man who was told not to confront and film suspects or film courts and is given a suspended sentence and then everyone is surprised that he goes to prison when he breaches the original suspended sentence and comits further contempt of court.

After the suspended sentece at Canterbury in 2017 detailed below, Tommy Robinson (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) went to Woolwich Crown Court in early 2018 to report on the Darren Osborne case, once again Robinson was warned about his live facebook broadcasts and the matter was considered for referral to the Attorney General's Office in relation to the breaching of contempt of court laws. As well as Canterbury and Woolwich, Robinson has shown up outside trials in Huddersfield and Oxford.

Robinson was more than aware of the investigation for contempt of court at Woolwich, so what does he do he goes to Leeds Crown Court and does the same thing again. This time he uses his facebook livestream broadcast once again in order to confront the defendents and film them as they enter court.

Ex-EDL leader Tommy Robinson jailed at Leeds court - BBC News

This time he was finally jailed after numerous warnings, indeed how many warning do you need to actually get it through to someone.

Two live broadcasts appeared on Robinson’s Facebook page during the trial at Woolwich crown court, which heard Osborne had been an avid reader of material posted online by Robinson in the weeks before he attacked members of the Muslim community last June.

Should the matter be referred to the attorney general’s office and lead to a conviction, the publisher of the videos could face up to two years in prison for breaching contempt of court laws, which are designed to ensure fair trials.

The footage showed Robinson being interviewed by BBC and Sky News journalists. The discussions were recorded during the trial but were only to be broadcast if and when Osborne was convicted, in order to ensure his right to a fair trial was respected.

However, it is understood that the interviews were broadcast live on Robinson’s Facebook page without the journalists’ knowledge. The footage also appeared on other social media platforms afterwards.

So you've got a wall of crown licking links to hide behind but nothing to stop the muslim hordes from forcing their way in to your daughters' knickers.

Priorities man! The people pointing out what's happening aren't the problem.

They are if they ignore the law, and cause cases to collapse and inviduals to walk free.

Although why don't you do something about the massive sex trafficking industry in the US.

Then say so. The title is misleading, and that's being kind.

The title is a lie.
