What do you think the Court case at Leeds was about, and the police and national crime agency had clearly worked extremely hard to collect the evidence, then submit it to the Crown Prosecution Service in order that the case went before the courts.

One of the main reasons that out's people off giving evidence in Court is media publicity, and in such cases involving children and in rape/sexual assault cases the Judge can put in place some restrictions in order that identities are protected.

Both children had severe brain damage and were terminally ill, and there was no lifesaving procedure in either case, you can read the case notes on-line again they are on the Judiciary and Courts website.

The Police and NCA have dedicated units, and it should be noted that sex trafficking and the sex trade is rife in the US, which also has gangs such as MS-13 and the Mexican mafia running about, and has one of the highest murder rates in the civilised world. I would have thought there were enough problems in the US for you to worry about.

Robinson should have been imprisoned for his actions in Canterbury, but the Judge explained the law regarding confronting, intimadating, harrassing and taking photographs of defendents and others attending court. It was also explained the live downstreaming and comments that could have a negative impact on the impartiality of a trial are contempt of court. The Criminal Justice Act 1925 makes it clear that you can not photograph people going in or out of court.
Judges in the Crown Courts have the power to jail people in urgent situations where a contempt of court may threaten a trial outcome or lead to the collapse of a trial. Normally the procedure involves the CPS and a refferal to the High Court, however due to the suspended sentence for contempt of court and the nature of the case which had restrictions on in to protect witnesses and victims, the Judge used limited powers to jail for contempt and he did this within the strict guidelines imposed by the Attorney General.
As for contempt of Court,it's an offence in the US and Canada has Sub Judice laws, similar to the UK, as do Australia, New Zealand and manyother countries. Just becuase uyou don't understand another countries judicial system does not mean it is wrong.

Has the deadline passed, as I am British and I think you might find the deadline is May 2019.
After which time there may be an extended period if all negotiations are not complete, which is a sensible option when in comes to long and complex negotiations.

The UK is looking mighty stupid. More and more like a police state. Used to be the last bastion of Democracy, now it's an authoritarian state. It's just sad.

How quickly Extrodinary Rendition, Guantanamo Bay, the lack of any due process and legislation such as the patriot act are forgotten.
Lets also not forget the controversy over plea barganing, the US Death penalty, the US Prison population which ac****s for nearly a quarter of all prisoners in the world and of course police shootings in the US, or indeed shootings and gun tragedies full stop in the US. Again I would have thought you had far more pressing things to be concerning yourself with than a man who was told not to confront and film suspects or film courts and is given a suspended sentence and then everyone is surprised that he goes to prison when he breaches the original suspended sentence and comits further contempt of court.
