As Larken Rose points out there's nothing wrong with self-preservation. Just acknowledge that you are doing so under protest and continue to condemn the evil actions of other individuals and more germane to this conversation...the State.

Yep. Nothing wrong with giving the mugger your wallet to (hopefully) stay unharmed.

But always remember that we consented to the mugging by being on the corner of 5th and Broad when said mugger decided to violate our rights.

The Confederacy got wrecked, just like Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan got wrecked, by the righteous sword of judgment. Can't say I feel sorry for them one bit. The only mistake that Lincoln made was that he didn't have every Confederate Politician, Officer, and Volunteer hanged. All of you Confederate Fanbois should to stop whining like a bunch of school girls. The Confederacy chose the path of sedition to preserve an extremely and absolutely unjust and inhumate institution, and they got away pretty lightly all things considered. All of the Southern Confederate fanbois here should be thankful Lincoln was so magnanimous and you exist. Ya'll can keep playing mental gymnastics about "states rights" (to have slavery) all you want, but the truth is that the Confederacy was on, is on, and will always be on the wrong side of history.

Also, all of the anarchist types on this thread should go live on an island somewhere with like-minded individuals or by yourselves. I for one enjoy the benefits of living in civilization and what is for the most part a liberal, democratic state. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE IT. Stop being so damn feckless and whining about "the state" all the time, and just go find a nice little "unpolluted" slice of earth to call home. You could try easing yourself into it by spending some time in Mogadishu.

But yeah, Lincoln wasn't a libertarian. I don't believe there has ever been a functional country that could be described as being "libertarian".

And they gave us that moldy sandwich, so we benefited from it!

Is this part of a script that people are given? Seriously...

If so, they need new script writers.

The idea of my own island is intriguing, though.

He mentioned Mogadishu which is ironic considering he is currently buying drones to kill civilians there...just like the rest of us.

From a strike on December 6th of last year:

n a Guardian article published in January 2018, there were reports of civilian casualties from a strike on December 6. Guardian reported a five-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl and three men were killed.

No wonder I've been sleeping like a baby since December. I hunted down and obliterated a 5-year-old girl for "freedom".

Blatantly false.

Slaveholders gave up their slaves voluntarily many times - by freeing them, selling them, etc.

Slavery was on its way out and would have vanished organically. Mechanization made slave labor economically infeasible shortly after; the costs of "room and board" compared to the investments in mechanization and even paid laborers to operate them....basically the ROI of slavery was declining fast on the eve of the civil war and would have become nil by the turn of the century regardless of anything else that happened - despite the MASSIVE social pressures and economic boycotts that would have been equally effective.

What I am saying is you never have the choice of unrestrained liberty, you must choose the lesser evil.
