Of course there were very different situations. That does not let Clinton off the hook. I also said both were worthy of being removed from office. Both were charged with obstruction. Nixon without the tapes still was guilty of obstruction. Clinton without the blue dress was still guilty of obstruction. The blue dress added perjury to the obstruction charge. As is the case with Clinton and Nixon and now Trump its the actions to block the investigations that does them in.

If a president cannot just go in and do their job they are sworn in to do without all this funny business they should not remain president.

For example two people with the same job, one person embezzles $100,000 and other $10,000. With your logic the person who stole $10K should not be charged or even fired because the other person did something 10 times worse.

You don't see it because you like Clinton. The interview the other day with him and NBC news was very telling. He lies to the reporter more than once and finally when put up against the wall he admits he is lying but blames the reporter for him lying and accuses the reporter of not knowing all the facts. Very Trump like.

Clinton committed impeachable acts while POTUS. He lied under oath in a deposition. If you want to go one step further when a POTUS is sworn in they take an oath so any lies while POTUS would be impeachable and break that oath. Clinton had a news conference where he said he did not have relations with Monica which was a lie. Trump lies all the time of course so in theory he could be impeached just for that.

Unlike you I believe the bar should be very high regarding the actions of our POTUS, either party equally. You think they can do what they want as long as its not up to the level of Watergate which special privilege if they are a Democrat.

If the President were above the law, wouldn’t that mean constitutional restraints wouldn’t apply to him?

It would, but they do, so he isn't.

Polling is largely done over landlines which is going to give an increasing skewed result. I don't know any young people with landlines.

Then presidents issue out executive orders like candy during Halloween. It’s a hilarious joke that we, via the constitution, continue to abide by such archaic laws then get shocked when they get abused.
If he tries to pardon himself it'll likely lead to the Supreme Court.

Nothing says specifically he can pardon himself, and that wouldn't fit with the three branches of government of checks and balances.

My point is that those who believe the President is above the law, are by definition saying the Constitution does not apply to him.

Is amazing that you believe that. Perhaps if Trump keeps telling everyone he’s innocent maybe he’ll believe it himself and so will those who voted for him. Sorry but if he’s innocent, why doesn’t he shut up about it and let the evidence speak for itself? The more he talks about it the more he looks guilty.
