another segment attacking California, full of envious conservatives.

No matter how many people want to leave California, it will still be rich, populous and vital to the American economy.

Supply and demand The bay area is expensive and will continue to be expensive as long as people want to live there.
Denver was cheap before thousands of Californians came here.

Taken alone - as just a state - it has the 5th largest economy in the world (if it were a nation). Bigger than the UK. That's quite an accomplishment considering the UK has been at it for many more centuries and sucked resources from much of the known world to create their economy.

You forgot to quote that. I guess they don't tell you that on Fox.
It's great if you're filthy rich, but it sucks if you're middle class or poor. Housing and rents are very expensive, and the state tries to milk you for your money, via excessive taxation or fines. It's mission impossible if you want to buy land and build your own house or start your own business.

Plus the state resembles a third world dump and there's homeless, filth, and crime. It's not like what the Beach Boys raved about back in the 60s.

I know zero about California as I've only been there a couple of times. I do know if those 46% of californians who want to leave the state actually voted for politicians who presented policies these people wanted instead of allowing loony, wealthy socialists to run roughshod over them, they could turn the state back into the place they loved.

I don't want californians coming to texas and turning my state into the cesspool they escaped. we have a great state because we are republican.

stay home and fix your state, californians! you have the numbers to do it. California is a beautiful state. don't run away. don't give up. vote!

That study ranked California 42nd among the fifty states and the District of Columbia for the amount of federal per capita expenditure ($9,172)."
and that study did NOT INCLUDE the following:

California GETS more money than it puts in....

all those never take in consideration of the FEDERAL land, national parks, subsidies to cali colleges and military bases

all your national guard troops and facilities.....paid for by the federal government

all the military bases (32 of them), and the 40 thousand federal troops....paid for by the federal government.......and all those Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors who work there...spend FEDERAL MONEY IN CALIFORNIA

all the defense contractors.... (55 billion worth)

the 28 national parks, and its federal employees (which you receive federal monies for)

36 national natural landmarks (for which you receive federal money for upkeep)....

145 national historic landmarks(for which you receive federal money for upkeep...

9 wild and scenic rivers...managed and paid by the national parks service....paid for by the federal government

******45% of all California LAND IS FEDERAL OWNED******... 45 million acres are federally owned...in otherwords California owns just over half of its self

then there is the money Cali OWES the federal government....California borrowed $10 billion from the federal government to shore up its recession-battered Unemployment Insurance Fund. Even though the state’s economy is doing ok, it still owes the feds about $8 billion.

California is paying interest on the loan, an estimated $174.5 million this year, according to a new report from the state Employment Development Department, and the balance is shrinking only because in lieu of direct payments, the Department of Labor has raised taxes on employers.

not to mention all the 'other' federal agencies that have FEDERAL employees in California....200,000 FEDERAL employees (most making atleast 60k)...all that FEDERAL incomes and revenue that the FEDERAL government GIVES your state...these employees SPEND money in your state

Fort Irwin (NTC- National Training Center) 5,000 permeant troops...with monthly rotations of about 4000 troops

40,000 troops rotating in..getting paid with federal dollars... spending their money in California..... annually...nearly a billion federal funds spent in cali

if Fort Irwin was to leave..and that FEDERAL money was to leave... California looses billions in money from THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

when you look at federal money going to California...they get BILLIONS more, than they pay into the federal coffers

and the fascist liberal idiots who are pushing Calexit...have no clue how much the rest of the state supports cali…. cali get most of its energy from Arizona, most of its water from outside the state

Yep, let's move to Austin.....and screw that place up too!

Welcome to my world. The 1990's happened and 3/4 of Silicon Valley moved here, for the Hi-tech and way lower cost of living.

The city spends on beautification, not infrastructure and building roads for expansion capabilities in the future.
As soon as they widen the road one lane, it is packed again. Now, "toll roads" are the big rage. Taxes and fees in the big progressive city, that cannot see past the tip of their nose, always putting a bandaid on it.
The Greater Austin Areas population has multiplied 7x's since 1990. No, they didn't plan then and they are not planning now. Just more bandaides to "save money"

multi-million dollar homes that are only worth about 50k worth of material.....

so you have fools wasting their money

Chinese nationals were the biggest buyers, purchasing $31.7 billion worth of property, up from $27.3 billion a year earlier and more than ever before, the Realtors said.

Let those who are without sin cast the first stone.

Actually, part of why we're a beautiful state (thank you, btw) is because we have enacted stronger environmental standards. Such as for automobiles emissions.

Cesspool? Maybe you need to call for better environmental controls and enforcement in your state because it looks like polluters are getting a pass: https://apps.texastribune.org/pass-to-poison/

As for health - sadly, the Lone State State still has the highest rate of people who are uninsured in these states. It doesn't seem to be a priority for your state officials. And your governor just wants to make health care access even worse for many women by going after Planned Parenthood. Bravo!
