Left wing politics.

Here's what happened to the town I used to live in, in upstate NY.

Some time in the late 90s, early 2000s, farmers started selling land to developers who subdivided and built half million dollar McMansions advertising down state about tranquility peace and quiet etc.
Want to argue capitalism? Hold on to that thought for now.

So a few cityiots buy. They love it. They bring their co-workers, extended family, friends etc.
They bought and built as quick as they could.
Like a scourge, a plague, cancer, aids, they spread. They eventually outnumbered locals 5 to 1 and started running for local office to benefit themselves and their ilk.
Supply going down? Maybe there... not where I lived. They had high priced new housing galore.

Once they got their tax assessor our property taxes sky rocketed under the premise of "added value from new construction".
Folks who were living in that town their whole entire lives couldn't afford the taxes, and had to sell and relocate.

This snowballed as more and more came in droves.

When the town started passing asinine ordinances like you could be ticketed for loud exhaust if you have a Harley or pickup or muscle car, the town cops enforced it. But equally. The cityiots got nailed for their loud stereos and subwoofers rattling windows.

The lake I lived on was beautiful.
Used to fish, used to hunt water fowl it was awesome.
Then the town rezones it a residential area, and more houses go up.
No more hunting.

Caused an environmental issue big time.
Canadian geese the bastard birds, migrated south. They're territorial pricks.
They chased off mallards. They used the lake as a toilet. The board of health had to put signs up, no drinking the water, no going in with open wounds/cuts due to bacteria levels being so high.

They also banned any boat motors over 5hp because it's not environmentally friendly

Along with building on vacant land, came the displacement of the deer population.

Don't worry liberals goofed this one up big time.

Following Sandy Hook and the SafeAct. The cityiots rallied in town hall. We need to end target shooting in people's back yards, and hunting! I came up for peace and quiet I didn't want to hear Hillbillies shooting guns! I'm afraid to get suited up in bright spandex and ride a 12 speed bike and be mistaken for a deer, or jog down the road and get mistaken for a deer! I don't want to go hiking in the woods and be mistaken for a deer!

No more hunting Friday-Sunday.

What happened?
Deer population exploded!

Farmers that didn't sell out, lost acres of crops. They complained and petitioned. But it fell on deaf ears. Our car insurance rates sky rocketed, because the cityiot is used to driving in the concrete jungles of urban areas in Audi, BMW, Lexus, Infinity, Jaguar, Land/Range rover etc, that are well maintained. They never had to learn how to drive at night with deer sprinting out of fields and forests.
Well. Alot of the local PD from the town responded to the accidents, and tagged on depositions for having radar detectors and measuring skid marks and distance, placed them guilty for speeding.

That last bit was the final straw for the cityiots with the town PD.
They got voted out.

Back to deer.
When the deer started going to the cityiots houses and eat and tear up their well groomed landscaped property, that's when something had to be done.

That something, was consulting with DEC and ENCON. Together they got the bright idea to go to Vermont. Capture mountain lions, bring them back, release them to thin the numbers of the deer population.

That didn't work. Instead, being apex predators, mountain lions went after livestock. Calves, colts, alpaccas, pigs, sheep, you name it.

Used to be able to snowmobile and ride quads/dirtbikes issue free. That noise Ordinance put a stop to that rather quickly with harsh fines AND tagged on environmental related fines.
2 stroke sled? Yeah we will ticket you for excessive smoke in the exhaust. Rev the engine. Oh look at that over 90 decibels you're getting a ticket.

But that one made a resurgence when the town cops were voted out. LOL 911 calls were now handled by the state troopers-45 minutes away, and county sheriffs, half an hour away.

Poetic justice/karma came for the liberals.
Geese ruined the lake. It was not advisable to swim in it.
Geese attacked their ankle biter sized designer dogs.
They wrecked their big dollar luxury sedans and SUVS hitting deer.
Their well groomed landscaped yards were eaten up by the deer.
Then when heroin epidemic kicked off, junkies started breaking into their houses when they weren't home taking anything and everything that wasn't bolted down or locked up. Including copper water pipes.

That's what liberals bring. They justify high taxes. They want to fundamentally change the location they move to to suit them. They do not assimilate. They want to invade and conquer and if you DARE defy their will, if you dare be a thorn in their side, they'll find a way to tax you to the hilt, fine you, and get you arrested one way or the other. And if you're a gun owner a Republican you're all sorts of screwed.

Only way to beat them on taxes was have the maximum allowed limit of unregistered vehicles parked in your front yard, let the exterior of the house go to hell, and let trees and shrubs go wild so that your property assessment doesn't go sky high to warrant high taxes.

Now back to your capitalism argument.
There were very few jobs locally that paid 50k+
The average income for that town was I think 38k dollars per household? Maybe a bit higher if I remember correctly... most folks drove an hour to work. Between gas prices and property taxes they had no choice but to sell and relocate.

Did cityiots bring any economic opportunity? No. NONE.
Temporary? Yes. Temporary in the terms of being in construction, temporary as in a need for more workers at the local mountain for ski/snowboard season.
Temporary as in needing seasonal employees.
Some examples would be the diner in town being busy all summer long, then dead during the winter laying off most of who they employed spring-fall. And those that worked there go to the mountain fall-spring.
These weren't careers... remedial tasks remedial pay.

Farm hands who lost their jobs when the farmer sold out to the developer had very little for any opportunity. They had to travel, or incur another expense and go to college or a vocational school to find a career. Some got commercial drivers licenses and drove tanker trucks for dairy farms that remained, some went on to OTR.
Then there were those who turned to slinging dope for a living. Or flat out got on the dole.

There was 1 landscape service in the area, but due to being inundated they couldn't keep up with demand and cityiotd started bringing relatives who owned or ran landscaping services from dutchess county up. Again, temporary/seasonal jobs for locals with dirt wages.

See for the most part, cityiot democrats, they don't know what work is. They're typically desk jockey managers, doctors, lawyers, etc that have been accustomed to the city to come grab their garbage, the city to mow that tiny bit of grass in front of their apartment, their rent covered a Superintendent and support staff should their hot water go out, electric go out, water or septic pipe break. They're used to being provided services that folks up in the sticks had to do and figure out for themselves.
And for some strange reason... they had no qualms with welfare... they would rather see a family on the dole, rather than working in a trade that they despise. They would rather raise taxes and the cost of living for all, and make it so costly that a 50k dollar a year profession just covers the bare essentials and taxes to float more government employees.

Oh yeah, that was the other thing the town did. They tried to sue NY state one winter because the roads weren't maintained to their liking...
They were told to pound sand so they tried their game with the county. The town hall/court stands where the towns highway department building used to be.
Oh yes. Axe the town highway department, and put up a facade with solar panels.
The taxes were funneled to the county to come maintain the roads.
We didn't have paved roads. They'd rip the asphalt up. Then came in with crushed stone and tar for you the tax payer to compact and compress with your vehicle to get scratched to hell and back and loaded with globs of tar.

Why? It was cheaper. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised the county highway commissioner was pocketing the rest.

The dump used to be free to take your garbage to. Most people burned it. When the scourge migrated, they had to charge and only accepted garbage in approved bags that were an arm and a leg. Me I used to burn my garbage up until I got fined for it. Then I paid 100 per month for garbage pickup.

A little town with no traffic lights. 5 stop signs. Taxes went from 900 combined to 5k when I sold.
Capitalism?

Pfft. Nope.

It's clear why Pelosi and Schumer style democrats love illegal immigrants and want to push that fable "they do the jobs Americans refuse to do". That's the only way they have relevancy. There's no economic opportunity, so we have to raise taxes to give hand outs to float those without a job for they do not have the resources or the finances to go to college. Keep people down as they benefit from the cheaper labor in hospitality and maintenance services.

So no. It isn't capitalism. Democrats are hell bound with a burning desire to kill off as many skilled trades related jobs as possible and create through force of taxation, ordinances, fines, a populace that is reliant and dependent upon hand outs and capitulates to their draconian laws that crap all over individual liberty to make some socialist utopia.

Hence the exodus from CA and NY to other states...

What you describe is bare-knuckle capitalism, buddy. The land is worth more when used for housing, and someone made a lot of money on that transformation. The developers don't give a hoot about those who live in affected communities, and they will start running City Hall if they get a toehold.

Moneyed interests saw a chance to make a buck and kicked you out on your rear. I'd feel for you, but you're voting for those who protect the developers to your own detriment, so... Nah.

They didn't kick me out on my rear. Cuomo said I wasn't welcome in NY any more.

Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.
Feel bad for me? Dont. I have a much better quality of life in Florida than I did towards the last 5 years I lived in NY...

Yes, liberal tend to be educated and well paid. CA is successful due to capitalism and some farmers sold land and made money in your former village. Those farmers participated in capitalism. It sounds like you want to live in a socialist utopia where the state mandates prices and not the market. The rest sounds like different social classes clashing and the wealthier classes pushing out the lower classes.

It's when liberals run things (like the town hall) and it all goes to hell.

It was fine before the insane ran the asylum. Make sense? Before they outnumbered locals and voted for tax increases and such, life was fine. They stayed in their yard we stayed in ours. It was once they got in control of the town government is when things went to hell...

Wrong.

Where did I ever say the state mandated prices?

Go back and re-read what your liberal minded voted for and implemented...
