Wait one minute I thought Trump didn't care about black people because he is a racist?

That Kim K must have been very persuasive in her meeting with Trump.

She promised to get her family to vote Republican.

I'm not a fan of either Trump or the Kardashian's and the thought of her talking to him with her slow cadence and vocal fry is like nails on a blackboard, but good for her for getting involved and making this happen.

What I love about Trump is the way he will agree to anything anyone asks as long as they pretend to like him.

#MAGA.

This.

But I will give credit where credit is due. Trump managed to do something good here.

Not just anyone, you have to be extremely wealthy too. If you are rich and kiss Trump butt, he has proven that he will do just about anything to reward you. He gave Putin control of the US government at the low cost of $$$$ for Trump Org projects and a few compliments.

This pardon is a bit of WTF moment, given Sessions' obsession with the war on drugs and his stated desire to put more non violent drug users in prison. I also can't help but contrast this pardon with Trump's support for the extra judicial death sentence carried out by the police on an unarmed man for selling loose cigarettes.

It is clear that in the US, you only get the justice you can afford or can get a wealthy benefactor to sponsor.

First of all, I'd like to say this is awesome. Very nice gesture by Trump. Now granted, it took Kim Kardashian of all people to make him aware of Alice Marie Johnson, but still.

My only question is this: what kind of precedent does this pardon set? Yes, Alice Marie Johnson's story was quite sad. She lost her job, had bills to pay, and figured she could only get the money she needed for bills was to start selling drugs.

How many first-time offenders are serving life or long sentences for drug offenses? I've got to think tens if not hundreds of thousands. Will some of those people be pardoned? How many people do you think there are in prison right now who "came on hard times" and felt they had no choice but to sell drugs in order to feed their kids and pay the rent?

I read about that today. I think he did the right thing. No one should be sentenced to life for a non-violent crime, especially a first offense.
