Isn't it a coalition of 20 individual states that is actually suing the federal government? Not the Republican Party and Trump that is doing this.
Coalition of 20 states? Its a coalition of GOP donors and their puppets. Remember, the billionaire class own the political system and are packing the courts with their chosen ones. They'll get their way, dont worry about it. If you are not a member of this ruling class, you better prepare for future pain.
Not that Trump is backing the lawsuit but that the executive branch of the federal government is not defend the ACA as has been a longstanding democratic tradition to uphold existing laws.
So what it boils down to is that the administration is not removing pre-existing conditions coverage or backing the lawsuit but the administration is not defending the ACA in the law suit. Is that more accurate.

Trump administration declared it won't defend the ACA.
They couldn't get the law repealed and replaced, so they're gutting it.
Next they will claim Obama and the Democrats "imploded" it.

All Trump had to do is present the great plan he had ready to go that everyone was going to love and support and we wouldn't have to try and narrow down bad arguments.
It's one of the reasons I'm glad to no longer live there. Health care in America is an absolute dumpster fire, and the people are inexplicably voting in people like Trump that want to make it even worse. I worry about family still there.

But not the GOP, not Trump as the title of the thread suggests. Its not an executive order or act of congress but a lawsuit initiated by representatives of individual states on behalf of those states against the US government.
You know how you can avoid paying higher rates for pre existing conditions? Get health insurance while you are young and healthy.
The problem is that people dont want to get insurance until they are already sick...well those people SHOULD pay higher rates, because they screwed everyone else that got health insurance while they were healthy.
It's exactly like getting in a car accident, then wanting to get insurance that covers the preexisting damage....

So that's correct then. The administration is not removing pre-existing conditions coverage or backing the lawsuit but the administration is not defending the ACA in the law suit brought against the US by individual states.
