Exactly. Some of the things he wrote made me furious, in terms of policy, but they also helped me learn how to articulate my own positions in a way that the likes of Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity could never do.

There will always be people with whom one disagrees. It's kind of nice when they aren't stupid.

Very well said! I really wasn't all that familiar with the man but from what I'm reading I'm thinking I'd view him as I did William F. Buckley, I may not have agreed with him but I respected him and he presented his position with civility, something I miss these days.

R.I.P.

At a time where political discourse is at an all time high, people like Charles Krauthammer will be dearly missed, and needed.

Everyone on this board ... let's use his tragic passing to remind us to treat each other with kindness, but also understand that even though we all have differing opinions, we should always treat each other with respect and understanding. At the end of the day, we all want the best for our country. And for some of us, we view that path in a different way. But we must also remember that those who disagree with us are not evil, or malicious. Next time you see a post or talk to a friend that you disagree with, do not antagonize or name-call. Rather, dig deeper and have the conversations that Charles would have. Focus on why they feel the way they do, rather than focusing on why they are wrong.

R.I.P Charles.

Charles was an intellectual giant who overcame such a tragic life-changing accident in his life to rise above it all and move through life with such grace and integrity — never a victim.
He will be missed.....

May he rest in peace. I did not always agree with him but he had rational reasons for his views and always conducted himself with class and civility.
