Myrtle Beach is called the same thing.

The electoral college should be abolished. It was created for one reason, and the founding fathers are on record as saying so: to protect and enable slavery. At the time in the southern states black slaves far outnumbered white people there. Slaves can't vote, so the southern states feared that if the president were elected by popular vote the North would always choose the president. The Electoral College was created as an awkward compromise to appease the South.

In today's modern world there is no need to continue the archaic Electoral College. It should be one person, one vote. And whether you like it or not the vote of someone living in Los Angeles is worth the same as yours.

The better solution is for the more populous states to split up. It has been suggested that California be split into three. New York could split in two. These two moves would probably add 6 democratic senators and increase the electoral college representation of those two states.

It’s already happening but not for political reasons. Liberal politics destroyed their states so now everyone is fleeing the high cost, high tax states for conservative states.

Here's a suggestion, though: If you believe strongly in what you believe -- and I am using the general "you" and not targeting you specifically, SandyCo -- then VOTE. If more moderate Republicans had voted in the primaries, and more liberals had voted in November 2016, DJT would now little more than a footnote in election history.

I just hope that we can get through the next 891 days until the new POTUS takes office! (Yes, I am counting the days, lol!)
What will you do if Trump gets re-elected ?

(I'm not a Trump voter. I'm just curious)

Of course, I would just deal with it. Is there any reasonable alternative?

(I think that anyone who thinks that there is any hope of getting Trump out of office other than through the November 2020 election is just fooling himself or herself. Even hoping that he is kicked out through impeachment is bad, imo, because if he IS, before that happens, things would have to get even worse than they are now. And I do not wish death for anyone, except those who murder a child or commit any kind of physical torture on anyone.)

So, who's joining me in my move to Iowa?
What, liberals leave their cushy entitlements for a state where they might actually have to work to survive? Really???

That’s demented thinking.

To the tune of Bob Marley's No Woman, No Cry:

No beaches, No move!

Which bring us the next question: where they'll move once there'll be no conservative states anymore?
