I have a very odd situation where my postal address is in a different county than my physical address. When I go they tell me I can't serve in a county i don't live in. I tried to explain that the other county told me the same thing. They both crossed me off the lists, I think.
On another forum, people recommended wearing 'slogan' tee shirts to show they were biased, i.e. Live Free or Die, pro second amendment, big marijuana plant, pro-prostitution, America First, Marxism, etc. A few said to wear a crucifix or Jewish star. Seems to me you would come off being very attractive to either the prosecutor or defense attorney so it would backfire. I don't think potential jurors are allowed to wear politically themed items, but I could be wrong.
I just dress 'business casual'. I think it's disrespectful to the Court to look like a slob but then I always dress nicely when I fly, too, so I'm old school.
My city only requires us to show up, after calling in daily to see if we need to report, for one day and if we are not chosen, we are done for two years so no slogging downtown everyday. Every city should do this and more people wouldn't try to get off serving.
I've been called several times. I wouldn't say it was the most exciting experience in the world, but I consider it to be my civic duty to participate when called. "Jury of your peers" means a jury composed of average citizens with no preconceived notions of the particulars of your case. Serving as a juror is a basic part of being a citizen of a free society.
I've received jury duty notices well over a dozen times. I've served on a jury. I've spent many a day sitting on a hard wooden bench outside a courtroom for hours on end, not allowed to wander any further than the men's room.
Over a period of several years, I was getting a summons multiple times each year, for municipal court, district court, and juvenile court.
Once I got a belly full of "doing my civic duty" I put a stop to it by being so irritating in the court room that they simply crossed me off their lists.
I have family members that have been called to serve who just didn't go. They said they would just pretend they never received a summons and they have done this for YEARS.

That is exactly what I do. I just throw the summons away and forget about it. Sometimes I get a second request and I throw that away too. Not once has anything else happened beyond that point. People like to act like judges are sending the cops out to lock up jury duty scofflaws but it almost never happens in the real world. I have ignored at least a dozen jury summons in multiple jurisdictions over the last decade and have come to no harm. Even if some judge decided to act like a p endejo and make a big deal about it, they could never prove that I actually received the summons in the mail - mail goes missing all the time amirite?
