Here, better than I can say,

"China imported $129.89 billion of U.S. goods last year, compared with U.S. purchases of $505.47 billion of Chinese products, according to U.S. data. The figures differ from those provided by Chinese customs, which showed China imported $153.9 billion of U.S. goods and the U.S. purchased $429.8 billion of Chinese products.

Either way, even if Trump goes on to impose tariffs on $300 billion or even $400 billion of Chinese goods, Beijing could only levy duties on a total of $100-plus billion of U.S. products."

The US also exports 3 times as much services to China than the other way around. Services are conveniently ignored in this debate, but its more and more important. Tourism in particular employs a lot of people.

Nevertheless, both the US and China are not trade dependent countries, like smaller countries. Trade as a share of China's GDP has declined alot.

US market has now wiped out the entire year's gain on Trump's incompetence. Geez, if you can't get a stock bump on a trillion dollar giveaway to corporate America, how bad are you?

US semi-conductor companies derive over half of their revenues from sales to China. These are some of the best paying jobs in the US on the line in Trump's war on trade.

I'll take you seriously only if you show me your posts praising him for the gains in the stock market. I suspect I won't hear from you any time soon.

China stocks sink as Trump's fresh trade threats herald 'darkest hour'
You celebrate some other country's stock losses, while the DOW is in the red for the entire year of 2018.

Not much to celebrate if you asked me.

However our economy won't. We may see some inflation but employment will rise. We are the ones with the trade deficit.

If trade stops then China has too many workers and the US will have too few.
