White population in USA has been on decline for years. There was a bump post WWII (the Baby Boom), but things have been on a slide pretty much since that wave was over.

Wealthy Protestants long made use of birth control (legal or otherwise), but then came the once reliable baby making Roman Catholics (Irish, German, Italian, etc...) taking advantage of birth control and other means of family planning.

All this coincided with several forces; access to safe abortion and or legal birth control, and changing roles for women including obtaining higher education.

It is a proven fact worldwide that there is a strong correltaton between education levels achieved and female reproduction. On average women with college and or post graduate degrees have fewer children.

For years low birth rates among whites were masked by immigration, especially of large entire families from Europe. That is no longer the case as the Kennedy immigration laws shifted things more towards Asia and other countries. That and even in Europe white women on average simply are not interested in having large families, that is if they reproduce at all.

Around the edges you have other factors such as acceptance of homosexuality (two gay men cannot have children, so unless they can use a surrogate (white)....), cost of raising children, increasing interracial marriage, and so forth. But those are outliers.

Bottom line is while there have been fluctuations, white (as in European) birthrates barely reach or maintain replacement levels, nor have done so for so long that cake is baked. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ryan seem content to have a passel of kids, but they are in the minority.

One of the main reasons you see white households with more than one or several children lies in the increased use (and acceptance) of fertility treatments and or surrogacy. IVF is known to produce pregnancies which result in multiples. This explains why so many gay fathers have one or more sets of twins.

I was thinking we needed a wall for this: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiep...ginia-n2493471

or because of this:

or maybe this: https://denver.cbslocal.com/2018/03/...wanted-by-ice/

We are pretty full of our own murderers at the moment.

The sheer hatred between many Native American tribal groups ran so deep, they couldn't put aside long enough to unite against a common enemy, much less build a wall.

I personally think Border Walls work

Countries all over the world have them....

Ever been to Israel and tried crossing over to the West Bank? I have.

Good luck climbing that wall or digging a tunnel underneath that.

The only thing I'd be concerned with is the actual cost.

Lightbulb Why The Continued Push To Build A Border Wall?

It's simple.

tRump wants an enduring monument and he thinks the wall will be it.

But what he'll be remembered for is traumatizing children.

Among other big failures.

If a wall didn't cost anything that would be one thing, but it will cost billions. Billions, and it is highly unlikely that Mexico will pay for it. So why is it even on the table as a requirement for an Immigration Bill? An established anti-immigration culture and properly trained and equipped Border Patrol are all that will be required going forward to protect America's south border security. I believe this has to be known in Washington. Personally I think that about $5B to $7B of the demanded $25B for wall building will actually be spent on a wall. ~$4B on upgraded fencing and ~$3B on enhanced technology and training and personnel for Border Control. The rest will go into the Mother of All War Chests, to solidify the Far Right hold on America's ideological rudder. Ignoring the shots across the bow of "Citizens United" and "The Financial Meltdown" got us to this point. Caving to the extortion represented by a demand for $25B or "the children will continue to be separated from their parents at the border" will finish off our Democracy.

Mexico was going to pay for the wall, now Donald Trump wants US taxpayers to pay for the wall. It's time to put Donald Trump behind a wall in a Federal Penitentiary.

This again???? Trump's plan was to make Mexico pay for it involuntarily down the road. How many times do I have to repeat that? Besides would you rather continue to foot the bill for the over $100 billion a year that illegal aliens cost us or fund the $25 billion wall? The choice is clear to any sane person.
