What did you mean in your previous post about, "The bible is very clear about adhering to the laws of the land?" What is the "law of the land (government)?" Does your right hand know what your left hand is typing?

Is taking young children from their mothers a law of the land or an ungodly act?

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
That is Christ in disguise at the border.

God is testing you, Taratova. And you are denying Him.

How will you explain it to Him when you meet Him at the end of your life?

[quote=Taratova;52291382]The bible is very clear about adhering to the laws of the land.

The Bible also says we should not wear clothing made of wool and other fibers woven together, should not eat shellfish or any pork, should never eat both meat and dairy products at the same meal, that women should never speak, much less lead in church and should always keep their heads covered in church, that children who are disobedient or mouthy to their parents deserve to be punished with death, that those who are divorced and remarry are adulterers. It says it's okay for men to beat their wives as long as the stick used is no thicker than the husband's wrist. It says that polygamy is just fine, then contradicts itself by saying that people should be monogamous. It says that animal sacrifice honors God.

Tell me, Taratova, do you adhere to all those Biblical laws? You do know that many of them were intended to apply to very individual long-ago situations (in which many of them made good practical sense) and not to the entire world, don't you? Oh, you don't? Perhaps you need to study the history of the Bible more thoroughly.

I think the Bible was written by normal, good but flawed people who were inspired by God. I do not think it is God's unchanging word. I am mainstream Protestant and try to be a follower of Christ and make my hands his hands in the world.
