I am not particularly liberal, but on some things yes. Obviously anyone who uses the term social justice in a negative sense is being derisive, and has no respect for the virtue.

When did progressives become the far left? The term was once, and not very long ago, a respectable description of members of either party.
To be honest, US society as a whole, has "progressed" to a relatively acceptable centrist driven political position. Equality of opportunity exists, as does a relative amount of government assisted societal security.
Those still pushing "progressive" politics are pushing some pretty far left ideas at this point.

Micah 6:8 says that we should "seek justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God." So no, I have no problem with seeking social justice.
