Democrats are better with the societal problems and Replubicans are better on the economy (if you think universal healthcare won't destory the economy you are an idiot). I'm now a moderate, left leaning, because the Democrats are filled with insane groups, SJWs and the overly controlling PC climate is too far left for me.

To the left I'm a racist Nazi (I'm pro-wall, anti-illegal immigration, and pro-guns) and to the right I'm a socialist (I'm pro-social safety nets, with restrictions); no win situation.
You don't know your left foot from your right foot.

As far as economy. Clinton had a great economy, Obama fixed Bush Jr mess too, every Republican President gets us into a Recession. I'm guessing you like those.

That's the difference, the biggest complaint in this thread is that the Republicans call moderates liberal, you won't get nearly as many Democrats calling moderates conservatives.

If you mean centrists or rationalists, it's rare. Mainly because it is a waste of time and energy debating people when their only "arguments" are incoherent pretzel logic, ad hominem attacks and simple-minded parroting of propaganda points. And when that fails, like spoiled children some will resort to angry or hateful spewing. Stick around for a while, you will soon get to know who fits in this category.

There are a lot of other forums with better discourse. The Great Debates forum here at C-D isn't too bad, that one is more closely moderated. With that said, a wide open forum like this has its place - you just have to recognize it for what it is.

If you think this forum is filled with extremists go to Reddit or Yahoo politics forums. Total lunatics post there all the time. Really gives you some perspective on the mental health of some of those people.

If anyone sees Trump for who he really is or say anything negative about him you are bashed here by his fans. Not even discourse of conversation just bashing as others have said.

The problem with reporting on healthcare is how it is reported.

Premiums are rising at a lower rate than before Obamacare, but conservative media reports on it is "Premiums still rising" or "premiums rose again".

More people are covered and more people are paying in.

Also, Democrats support universal payer, not universal service.

The wall will not stop the majority as they simply overstay Visas rather than hopping the fence.

Most people regardless of party are anti illegal immigration, the problem is defining what "good immigration" is.

and what is "pro gun" ? this term doesnt make sense. Do you mean you support less restrictions on your ability to obtain guns ?

If you are using your brain and value critical thinking skills, then by definition you will be an outcast here. Many of the viewpoints expressed on this forum are based on primitive emotions and tribal group-think.

Sometimes the term "cult" is used to describe this, but really that is not intended in any disparaging way. It's just an accurate way of explaining the spread of Trumpism and his populist movement. Their loyalty is based on emotions, not rationality. This is true of many politicians of course but Trumpism takes it to a new level.
