Maga hats or gay couples wanting a cake, its all the same. Ownership should have the right to refuse svc for any reason.
Ownership did not refuse the customer the manager did. The manager represents the restaurant and creating a firestorm is usually not a smart move. And ownership has a right to handle that situation as they choose and they did.
I have always believed if you have a business run it apolitical. Welcome everyone. If you want to get into politics or political activism do that instead. You mix the two together especially if you have just a single small business you are asking for trouble. The firestorm you create especially with social media fueling it is not worth it. And there are too many crazy people on each side that could do something very dangerous or destructive over it. I think you owe it to your staff and customers not to draw attention from the crazy fringe people.
Even down to putting a political bumper sticker on your car. If its a pro or anti Trump one you are asking people to mess with your car. Why do that?
Was the customer raised in a barn? I am of the school that men should take their hats off when entering a building.
bump and rep.
Maga represents incivility. For sure.
