It wasn't because of that, it was because Trudeau had apparently come to some kind of agreement with Trump, in person, and then, after Trump had left, he said something completely different.

Yeah, it's okay for Trudeau to say that Canada won't be pushed around in trade talks but it's not okay for Trump to say the very same thing about America and the trade talks.

Maybe where you are your understanding of polite dining etiquette says they are both considered the same thing but that's not the case here and if a man goes into a formal indoor dining room with a hat on he will be requested and expected to remove the hat.

.
Lol, nowhere in that article did it say that the guy was wanted to be seated in the formal dining room. They do have that patio dining, as the pictures proves, and the guy could have easily been seated at one of those tables. As far as "expected to remove the hat" , seems you're wrong about that, too.

I don't know what it is about guys and their caps, almost seems like the caps are permanently attached to their heads. But to lose ones mind over a guy wearing one is pathetic. Several of you may feel like you're speaking for all of those in your country, but you're not. Some Canadians do like Trump, some don't seem to have any opinion of either Trump or Trudeau, and yes, some hate Trump and will say anything, even lie, to push their hate.

Nope; it's been determined already that Trudeau repeated verbatim what he had told Trump weeks before and once again during their tete-et-tete. That the hope was it would not be necessary but if tariffs were imposed Canada would have no choice but to retaliate in kind.

That stance had been publicly stated by Trudeau and was endorsed by all opposition parties in Canada as the only possible alternative. Trudeau could hardly agree to a private deal allowing for tariffs without any response...it would end his tenure. Trump has yet to elucidate the terms of this private deal

Trump on the other hand publicly agreed in the presence of all the G7 members to a joint statement being made that as soon as he got on his escape jet and safely away from their presence, he needed to recant ...hence the manufactured outrage over a manufactured lie about Trudeau ….it's what Trump does with many instances of proof existing since he took office; 3000 lies and counting. Now the whole world is more than aware of that and probably won't believe a thing he says or be alone in a room with him without witnesses or a recording device.

Whose the proven "crooked person" in this picture known for stiffing his contractors, welching on deals and lying like a cheap carpet....hint..... it ain't Trudeau.

You are 50 years behind the times and, apparently, a sexist too.

Haaar! Tell Trump to get off his high horse and stop lying and while you're at it do some simple research of your own showing Canada charges less tariffs on American imports than the reverse by a full half of the amount. .85% mean average across the board compared to the U.S.'s 1.6% Those are World Bank figures confirmed by your own government figures.

Then consider the one country you enjoy a trade surplus with is the one accused of treating you badly.

Quit your phony victim whining. Nobody's buying it. Your lying leader has backed himself into a corner and is picking on who he thinks will cave first.

He's going to get a surprise.

That statement makes me conclude that you are a very young, inexperienced, undiplomatic and a not yet well educated or gentled person who doesn't know anything yet about mens' traditional symbolisms, meanings, statements and protocols in manners of dress and head wear.

Removing a hat indoors as a sign of respect is a world-wide historical diplomatic protocol and etiquette that is thousands of years old and will NEVER be 50 years behind the times. Not ever. The protocol will still be the same decades from now when you are a decrepit old person on your death bed or in your casket and your male relatives will remove their hats from their heads to pay their last respects to you. It will still be the same centuries from now. Some traditions never change and it has nothing to do with sexism.

And this person would know this if a veteran and tried to quaff a pint or two while wearing a hat in any mess, VFW or Legion Hall.

The conventions of civil and respectful behaviour never go out of style. They only get neglected by those not having them in the first place.

Can you keep all your "uncivilized" on your side of the border as well? Gotta love those Canadians who think they've got the corner on proper tourist behavior.
Try spending some time during the summer months in N/W Montana and you'll get a gander at the "wonderful" snotty, drunk, rude, boorish and self entitled louts called "tourists" you export.

Heck, just tour around to all the RV parks in AZ during the winter months to see some of your "wonderful" and "oh-so-special" people.
Sorry, y'all don't hold ANY moral or civilized high ground...
