Interesting concept, wonder how much the debt would go up if they had gender based taxation policies.

It would be interesting what the tax revenues would be if they had gender based taxation with women paying a lower rate and also student loan debt forgiveness which liberals are advocating in America.

In Australia supposedly they are looking into a tiered tax system where men pay a higher rate and women pay a lower rate.

I guess according to research presented that the tax rate should be 20% lower for women than men in America and 32% lower in Italy.

Here in America, it seems like student loan debt forgiveness is being championed as a women's issue as women hold nearly 65% of the student debt.

Men already pay ~70% of federal taxes. Once you account for entitlements, it may be that men on net fund the entire government. I do not find anything 'interesting' about trying to skew the tax burden even further towards men. In a functioning society men and women complement each other, they aren't constantly being pitted against each other.

By the way if the feminazis ever take over and put this into law - you can call me Caitlyn!

Stupid idea. Progressive taxation already accounts for income differences.

They found that married women were the main drivers of higher female tax sensitivities because they were often the secondary income earners in a household, and therefore faced much higher effective marginal tax rates.
As a practically lifelong member of the secondary earner club (aka, I pay far more taxes than the teacher in the next classroom), I know this is the issue - not my gender. However, if that’s what we are trying to prevent, then shouldn’t the logical answer be to tax each wage earner independently rather than create a gender dependent tax system?

Otherwise, yeah, we’ll see a steep rise in individuals born male who identify as females, at least in April.

As transgenderism is recognized under federal Australian law, you only need a medical practitioners letter to confirm it. I'd suspect there would be a large spike in trans-women if this comes to pass.

Certainly if I could get a tax break by being a member of a group that is not difficult to be considered part of, I'd do it. Nothing wrong with being considered a lesbian in a man's body for the purposes of lower taxes.

Arent you a heterosexual? Time to check your heterosexual privilege and realize that you benefit from the oppression of others? Heterosexuals should have higher taxes in America as well since heterosexuals are more of a drain on society even though the heterosexual privilege is real and massive.

For the life of me I can't understand why people still peddle the lie about women "earning 20% less than men."

Women EARN less because they WORK LESS than men (for any number of reasons, child rearing being a major one) and go into professions - on their own volition - that are not as lucrative. That's it. Otherwise similarly situated men and women in the same job get paid the same, and when that doesn't happen there are laws to protect and compensate women who are shortchanged.

[Cool fact: Up until about 30 years old women actually EARN MORE than men do now. Childrearing puts a damper on women's lifetime earnings. But this too is a farce, since most married people raising kids do so as a team, and the "primary caregiver" is supplemented by the breadwinner, who simultaneously obtains a benefit of having the childrearer at home].

Actually Australia is not looking into a tiered tax system.
And the "research" "presented" was a theoretical paper written by a couple economists.
