It’s not about compassion. It’s about constructing agendas out of nothingburgers. Old sick people without air conditioning living in urban environments die off during a heat wave. Expected. Not news. That is not a basis upon which to fabricate a climate crisis, the solutions for which include massive theft and redistribution of private wealth using the police power of the state, to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th world.

If someone wants to start an air conditioning drive for the old and sick city dwellers, do that. I’ll make a voluntary contribution after I vet the charity.

But of course it’s not about the old and sick. It’s about taxing and spending, with the collectivist empire builders running the redistribution. No. Not on my watch.

Or in a normal winter cold wave. And the leftists would be blaming that on “extreme” weather caused by AGW. Not a death can go by without an opportunity to hustle.

An easy thing to say, and one that doesn't require a lot of thought. It shows a certain laziness, or even lack of curiosity about what motivates other people's ideology.
