"The rich are getting richer, and the poor are... also getting richer. What's driving this wealth creation process? In this video, Daniel Hannan explains why it is capitalism — and capitalism alone — that has led to the unprecedented enrichment that is the central fact of Western life."

But these people are pushing socialism.

This what I have been talking about for a while now. Ever since the progressive left abandoned income inequality and puts much of its focus on Racism and Sexism thanks to large swaths of SJWS, feminists and pro black groups. The left has clearly abandoned the poor and probably for good. Ever since SJWS and Feminist infiltrated and took over Progressive wing of the democratic power, such infiltration sparked the death knell of the end of the class war in America. One of the best books I have ever read outside the bell curve, the state of white America. Thomas Picketty Wealth in the 21st century explains how wealth will continue to go up in the foreseeable future while many more will become poor and remain poor. We can have little sprinkles of Socialism here and there to prevent people from slipping through the cracks of capitalism, however capitalism is the only system that lifted billions out of poverty.

I do agree with some Social Justice, and not all feminists are bad or hate men. However, the way SJWS and feminists are going about things these days, playing the victim, pushing a socialist agenda in the name not of equality but for special privileges are all wrong and not fair for the rest of the masses, yet such people also abandoned the poor as well. If we to improve America, lets help improve our economic system, lets reduce the class war instead of boasting s pocialism which will not provide equality.

Oh look! a idiotic video that cherry picks where it pulls its data from to decieve people. Notice how it switches between "the world" and "the us"? Or how it compares technological change to wealth? This for example:
Quote:
Go a little further back. In the seventeenth century, the most powerful man in the world was Louis XIV of France. Every night, he’d have 40 dishes prepared for his dinner, and he’d pick the one he felt like. Think about it: A receptionist today can stop off at a store on her way home and have not only a wider choice than that king, but a fresher one and a healthier one. We all live better than Louis XIV.
Just think about this comparison rationally. How do people fall for such nonsense?

Socialists will only be happy when everyone is equally poor.

...except the ruling elite which tries to convince the uninformed that socialism is good for us.

Good news! At the rate we are going most will be. Turns out that the middle class is increasingly being dropped down in the % of income they take in.

IE Capitalism isn't working-which is causing people to consider alternatives. Personally I think we can fix capitalism, but few seem interested in doing so.

Everything I have read indicates that middle class income has been stagnant since the 80's while the wealthy has benefitted greatly, but you have a video that indicates the poor are doing well in the US.

Daniel Hannan isn't even an economist, he is a conservative politician, writer and Brexit supporter.

Quote:
Income inequality is rising. Over the past few decades, the rich have seen huge gains, while income for the middle class and the poor have largely stagnated.
Lots of people have ideas for how to get middle-class incomes growing again. On today's show: Branko Milanovic, one of the most insightful economists we know on this subject, says a lot of those ideas won't be that helpful in the 21st-century economy. He has some surprising ideas about what will.

The "u" after prager stands for university. A very misleading thing to do. It's just a video making website.

The first argument that people is richer now than in the past even when compared to recent years is MISSING THE POINT, and VERY MISLEADING. The argument is rich vs poor, not past vs present.
Another source is an article written by himself; This is called cheating.
The only other source that mention poverty is the comparison of Vietnam and Laos: 11% vs 22% respectively in poverty.
Poverty is usually measured in how many dollars people make. This is a misleading way of comparing poverty since the purchasing power of money varies widely by country. But check the other differences between Vietnam and Laos. 94 millions to 7 millions in Laos. GDP per capital in Vietnam $6,900 vs $7,400 in Laos. Unemployment 2.3% in Vietnam vs 1.5% in Laos. Taxes and other revenues 22.9% in Vietnam vs 18% in Laos. (less tax is good for the market)

It looks like free trade has actually hurt Vietnam, and Laos is doing slightly better. The opposite of what is claimed in the video.

We get happy when there is less income inequality between upper leaders/management and regular employees. We don’t believe anyone should be poor.

And anyone who believes that Trump has changed things that drastically in a year and a half -- of which the first year he did little to impact the economy, they are drinking the kool-aid.

Yes the economy is puttering along like it was before Trump.

For whatever reason.

No big surge, no big growth -- just puttering along as it was for years before Trump.

YEAH USA.
