Merkel is a Russian sympathizer, speaks Russian, studied at Karl Marx University, and would cave to Putin quite easily, if ever challenged. Hence, Germany toes the line with Russia, and never crosses that line. Putin, in return, does nothing to threaten Germany's well being or existence.

About 40% of the gas they consume is from Russia. I do not know where you are getting that 10% from but if that includes renewable energy it's dependent on fossil fuel energy.

On an ideal day Germany can power their grid with renewables, that system is 100% dependent on fossil fuel generation since it's unreliable. This dual system is why they pay about 35 cents per kWh. It's impossible to get over that hump as the capacity and storage requirements spiral out of control.

Trump ships our coal to China and much of our energy or resources all over the world...to adversaries. Somehow I don't hear much about that.
Relatively speaking there is very little coal exported to China compared to production here or their consumption. I'd have to look it up but most of those exports are likely not for thermal use but used for industrial processes.

With the exception of Canada imports are down across the board, note that the 14% for Saudi as one example would be 14% of the 19% from above graph.

Kelly kept looking at him as if he was out of his stupid mind. How long can he keep this BS up?

Pompeo just stared like he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

I saw no nods of agreement. Nothing to indicate they were going along with Trump's BS.

Trump: "Germany is totally controlled by Russia because they will be getting from 60% to 70% of their energy from Russia."

Reality: "Gas makes up less than 20% of Germany's energy mix for power production."

"The commodities brokerage Marex Spectron told Reality Check that about 60% of Germany's gas was imported from Russia, with most of the rest coming from Norway."

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-44794688

So gas makes up less than 20% of Germany's energy and only about 60% of that comes from Russia.

Trump is lying and everyone around that table knows it.

The focus of Trump’s comments was Germany’s acquiescence to Russian plans to build the cross-border and seaborne pipeline which would give Putin a stranglehold on Europe’s fuel supply during the winter months. Remember how Russian froze out the Poles and Ukrainians? If this plan goes unchecked, Russia will have its boot firmly on the throats of the other EU countries. Although it is a physical impossibility, Trump is in effect telling Merkel to grow a pair...

Oh, Germany exports MORE to Russia than Russia to Germany....

What a bunch of BS.

If we want to go to "power" or "energy", Germany gets 10% from Russia and is no way reliant on it. They can get it or substitutes from many many places.

AND, Germany supports all the sanctions against Russia.

It's truly amazing that anyone believes a word out of this guy's trap.
It's a well known fact that Germany is dependent on Russian oil and gas and Putin has significant influence over the Nazis (Germans).

Irrelevant when a large percentage of that other production is dependent on the 20% for reliability. e.g. when the sun is not shining and the wind is not blowing that 20% rises substantially.

You are talking to someone who lived within 5 miles of "how his businesses worked" in Atlantic City. You are also assigning intelligence to a creature with none. Very Forest Gumpish.

The basics are clear.

1. If he invested his inheritance with Buffet, he'd have 180 BILLION.
2. If he invested in decent index funds, he'd have 7-9 BILLION solid and low risk.
3. Instead, his "business experience" brought him virtually no return (he was pretty much dead broke...luckily some Russian and other foreign banks came through) and left a trail of ripped off bondholders, taxpayers and contractors in his wake. Still, even after all this his return is far below mine or anyone who invested reasonably...

In other words....he never made anything of what he was given.

In my book that's a Loser. To assign him credit for losing vast amounts of return is fantastic.

He is admittedly and reportedly a know nothing. Do you honestly think if we handed him an empty globe that he could fill in the name of even 1/3 of the countries? He doesn't read. He doesn't write.

All he does is BS and cons....

Worse yet, you appear to think that his "hyperbole" fools the likes of the Chinese or Europeans...or Putin...or anyone with 1/2 a brain. They don't.

I will give you this much credit. His hyperbole is meant to fool YOU...his base here. That's all. That is because they are the only possible audience for such shenanigans.

Always remember that a monkey will score 33% on a 3 question multiple choice test. So pointing to the thing he accidentally says that is true (a distinct minority of his statements) isn't anything to crow about.

If you truly think deceit and lying constantly about virtually everything - even to your best friends, family and business associates....is a "good strategy", then we differ in that sense.
