Illinois officer resigns after not helping woman harassed for wearing Puerto Rico shirt | TheHill

An Illinois police officer resigned after facing public criticism for not helping a woman who was harassed for wearing a Puerto Rico flag shirt.

A now-viral video showed Officer Patrick Connor failing to intervene when a man identified as Timothy Trybus began to harass 24-year-old Mia Irizarry, calling her un-American for wearing a Puerto Rico shirt...

Trybus is seen in the video harassing her for wearing a shirt with the Puerto Rico flag. She posted a video of the altercation on Facebook in June and it has since been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

“You should not be wearing that in the United States of America,” Trybus says in the video, moving closer to her. “Are you a citizen? Are you a United States citizen?"

Just more illegal animals who come to this country and run around wearing foreign flags and probably speak only Spanish. It's a wonder they didn't call ICE on her! ~sarcasm~

This should really increase tRump's approval ratings among Hispanic voters. Along with sales of the Baby Trump blimp...

It is sad that some don't realize that Puerto Ricans are US citizens.

What does this drunk guy and an ineffective cop have to do with Trump?!

Glad he isn't a cop anymore he doesn't deserve to be.

The drunk guy shouldn't be charged with anything just for mouthing off. Everyone's been around obnoxious drunks like that at some point, no big deal.

Glad you think that, why not run over the the thread where people are seeking public execution for the people yelling at Mitch McConnell and let them know.

This probably should go in the other very long thread on the incident. It was the right thing to do but no need to breathlessly make a new thread.

The woman asked the LEO to do something because she felt uncomfortable. Everyone knows drunks sometimes resort to violence and I can see why she was worried with this dude. The LEO responded by walking away. He's a loser.

Now he’s an unemployed loser, as he should be. Just like the POS deputy in Parkland that stood around while kids were being executed.

Great story, but why bring President Trump into play as anyone can see that you're biased.
