It's rather astounding to see all the Republicans as well as people on this forum working to undermine the investigations, discount what is going on, throw attention elsewhere.
In that case Obama should be arrested and tried, because he knew they were doing it on his watch and did nothing. Trump wasn’t even in office then.

Obama could've yelled, "The Russians are directing and infiltrating Orangeaid's campaign!" This means before the Russians actually made Orangeaid "president". There were two choices: 1) Tell us that a coup (it was a new kind of coup - it was an attempted and likely completed takeover without a shot being fired) had taken place by Putin. The pretend ublicans would've yelled and screamed and wet their pants (like they're doing now). god knows what this would've done to the election. -- Or -- 2) Shut up and not say a word. We, know what happened then. Either way, we were screwed.
We were too infiltrated when Obama found out the depth of what happened. The Russians were surrounding and protecting Orangeaid and they had the GOP in their bag by then.
I should remind you that until Putin actually moves into the blackhouse, we are the United States of America. We do not lock up or kill political opponents as long as America remains our country. Putin kills his opponents and the orange thing admires Putin and his treacherous beliefs which makes the orange thing a traitor.

How does indicting and even jailing these people, even for the rest of their lives, cause the cyberwarfare attacks we that we are subject to, to be stopped or reduced to even the slightest degree?
We certainly need to "do something" about this, but it needs to be something that actually will substantially diminish and effectively protect us from these sorts of attacks.
Sadly, these indictments against individual members of our adversaries cyberwarfare military establishments have zero possibility of accomplishing any of these noble objectives. Instead, it is just political theater, putting on a public show, so that the Mueller investigation cannot be accused of being a misguided waste of time and resources.
Apples and oranges. Those were sanctions that were not (yet) applied. I talked about sanctions that actually were. Namely:
60 Russian diplomats expelled.
Russian consulate closed
Five Russian companies blacklisted.
A couple of dozen of high level Russian government officials and oligarchs that were engaged in cyber attacks on the US blacklisted/sanctioned.
I gave you cites for those. They actually happened. Are you going to deny it? Those sanctions were in fact a lot harsher/stricter than what Obama imposed.
The thing is, beyond the absurdity of the accusations that the Russians hacked the DNC or that evil twisted monster Podestas emails, is that the Russians had anything but a very minimal role in influencing our elections.
Compare that to what we know DID occur to influence our elections. Lobbying groups buying ads, online service providers like Google and MSN, AOL, Facebook, Hollywood, and the MSM, all of which were very much pro Hillary with websites like Drudge being an exception. That and the work of countless non paid private citizens who were the foot soldiers posting day in and day out, like HERE and even the paid trolls, again, most of who were in the US, and we see that this is just a ridiculous legal unicorn chase that will have zero end result. Other than pushing for a phony cold war with Russia and to strip American citizens of their rights to free speech online. Its an authoritarian wet dream and the deep staters are scratching their red baboons asses we take this seriously and are stupid enough to fall for it.
Rosenstein is either hopelessly corrupt or hopelessly stupid, like Comey and Mueller. Try them all for treason and find out which.
