The reality is the facts ARE there. That is not a witch hunt, that is exactly one would expect out of a proper investigation from professionals. If the facts were not there, then no indictments. How many are we up to now? How many guilty pleas so far?

The guilty pleas have nothing to do with Russian collusion

The other hackers Mueller indicted are showing up to court to fight the charges.

Mueller has not gotten a slam dunk on any thing related to Russian collusion

Obama shares some culpability as it happened in the waning months of his 2nd term. He however at least accepted the intelligence findings that the Russians interfered in the elections and started sanctions to punish them. Trump seems inclined not to admit the Russians did anything and has sought to weaken any punitive actions. DJT has carried on as if Russia did nothing major wrong.

But the purpose of the investigation wasn't just to 'catch Trump colluding'...it was to find out what happened.

The collusion part may have been part of it -- but it wasn't the first and foremost goal.

If Trump had -- from day one -- focussed the message of the investigation to find out if there was Russian tampering or how much (because very quickly it was determined there was)......the collusion thing might not have stayed on top of the story

But Trump kept bringing it up - -his political pundit supporters on TV kept suggesting that the sole goaL of the investigation was to find Trump guilty...so then you start to wonder -- well maybe he did do something.......

Even in this thread -- instead of saying -- good the Russians should have consequences for interfering -- you Trump supporters are 'collusion' 'collusion' 'collusion'.

Today -- it isn't about collusion -- it's about another country -- who our President is kissing up to pretty hot and heavy right now, blatantly trying to interfere with the election process in the USA

He and his staff could encourage the investigation along by saying they were anxious for the results to show that the Republican party did not collude and to confirm just how extensive the problem was.

End of story.

If 9 years ago Americans were told that in 2016 Russians would be caught actively hacking into the election, with the intent to impact the results, and that the winning President was excited about meeting with Putin.......they would have freaked.........

Obama was accused of being soft on enemies.

Putin definitely played with the USA elections and Trump is excited about becoming his friend.

WHAT IS THAT? What happened to the conservatives?

As a Conservative, you are correct, we should be concerned about foreign governments influencing our elections process. We should fully investigate, and take steps to prevent this from occurring in the future.

However, this does not appear to involve anyone in the Trump administration. Trying to link this to Trump at this stage is pointless, and is nothing more than partisan politics. It occurred on Obama's watch. Is he immune from culpability? He was the sitting president when this occurred.

If, in the future, evidence surfaces that links Trump and Russian meddling, he should of course be held to account, including impeachment, and removal from office if it comes to that.

The hypocritical point in all of this is that there is nothing linking Trump to Russian meddling at this point, yet Liberals keep insinuating that there is. This meddling/hacking happened while Obama was president, and Liberals don't shed any blame on his administration at all.

“Rosenstein, who said he had briefed President Donald Trump on the indictment, said there was no allegation that the hacking altered any vote count or that any Americans were knowingly in communication with any of the Russian officers.”

He's going to be a lot nastier when he finds out Rosenstein made his announcement during Trump's photo op and tea with the queen. Everyone's attention and cameras just shifted away, denying Trump his raison d'etre--attention and air-time.

FBI reports General Yakov Smirnoff along with Major Ivan Ivanovitch Ivanov are 2 of the main culprits.

MSM pounded it daily that Trump was guilty.
