Completely random, but I am actually happy that Trump's picks have a little bit more background diversity than previous selections.
He picked Gorsuch, a westerner (we are very underrepresented without Sandra Day O'Connor and Rehnquist).
And now a midwesterner who did not go to an Ivy League.
It's basic, but there's more to diversity than skin color. We could have an all minority court, but if they're all Yale grads from New York, then we don't have real diversity.
I'd like to see more SC justices from middle America.
Odd that a country that has a history of having white men as the majority of the population would also have white men as the majority incumbent of any particular job. This is from the people that scream that Republicans deny science, but here they are denying simple math.

Simple math? Math says men are the majority of the population??
Read the post I responded to - says that white men are the majority of the population. They aren't.
And aside from that, no, "math" doesn't say that the majority of people who become judges are male. Sexism and identity bias (because white men are an identity) is what has created a history where the majority of people who become judges are white men.
And that's the very valid point that CNN made with this article. Just because there has been a history of sexism and racism in this country where white men have been favored above all other groups doesn't mean we need to keep perpetuating it.
The majority of people in powerful political positions in Nigeria are black. I'd be willing to bet it's close to 100% of them without even looking. Racism??? No not really. Just a majority black nation.
Honestly, who cares what color they are?? The only thing that matters to me is how qualified they are for the job and that they keep political activism to a bare minimum. (A man can dream, can't he?)

Sounds like what Hillary lovers were saying after her loss. Lol
