A lot of people on all sides of political beliefs are being influenced profoundly by all day news, and they no longer even pretend to be unbiased. Is this good for the country and the people?

Read the First Amendment, sweetie.

Furthermore ... Anyone who is too stupid to not know the difference between news and opinion does not deserve to be protected by any bogus law.

Anyone who is too stupid to not know to get news from a variety of sources does not deserve to be protected by any bogus law.

All that is necessary is to bring back the Fairness doctrine. It worked very well for decades.

Reagan destroyed the Fairness Doctrine on the advice of Roger Ailes (at the time a political consultant), and now we have a situation no one seems pleased about.

I myself prefer unbiased news, but I don't think that it should be regulated.
Who will do the regulating? And how do we know that they would be unbiased?

The Free Press is a very important element to our Country and it's Government.

If you're anti-constitution and hate America, sure. Regulate the press.

Vlad Putin, Trump's buddy, arrests and jails journalists all the time. I bet Trump wishes he could do the same.

1. Newscasts, by law, to not have to be truthful. You'd have to reverse that in order to get them to be unbiased.

2. US Gov't propaganda is permitted to be broadcast as truth.

3. See 1&2. Anyone who wholeheartedly believes any newscast without question is an idiot.

No way it shouldn’t be regulated.

We’re all biased to some degree. I studied Politcal Science in college and when we would discuss this topic, the few conservatives in my class said they felt the best way to combat bias in news is to move the major news centers out of DC/NYC, that would never happen but there are ways to try to fix it without regulation but the industry isn’t interested.

A lot of problems with this, though.

First, it's not at all an issue if "too stupid".

Second, it's not the people being manipulated by biased news that need to be protected, it's everyone
