You need to put on the pointy hat and go sit in the corner with the other economic dolts.
I agree with your post.

Makes me wonder if some Trump supporters realize that tariffs are really taxes Americans pay to the government.

At the core of Trump's campaign strategy was this notion that the USA needed to be great again.

in order for Trump to convince folks he's doing something, he's trying to pretend that things are rotten in the USA.

Ironically at the same time -- now he's trying to tell us how great everything is in the USA.

We've had endless discussions about trade tariffs and their impact. We've had endless discussions about why a trade surplus isn't always a bad thing. We've had endless discussions about how technology is more to blame for the loss of jobs than NAFTA.

Also, the rationale of thinking it is wise to have Canada's economy crumble (or any ally really) in order to make a point about looking after the USA is beyond ridiculous. USA is Canada's biggest trading partner - -what do you think will happen if the Canadian economy tanks.

YES -- that's right -- they won't be buying anything from anybody -- which will directly impact the American economy -- DUH?!

I follow a bunch of British people. I saw a tweet from a political pundit, Roland Smith, from the UK. He was a keen supporter of Brexit.

He now has pulled his support and doesn't think they should go through with it. Among many of the reasons were of course political incompetence to get the job done and, Trump.

Now a bit more explanation: Firstly Trump & Trumpism. If one wants to exit the EU sphere, even partially, it is very important that the WTO is fully functioning, respected and continues to develop. And that America is a reliable ally for the UK. Both are in very serious doubt

And before this triggers someone to rant about -- who cares what some kind in England thinks -- blah blah blah. Of course this is not a standalone argument against the tariffs. -- I know his view is new and different and not something we have seen before....but it's indicative of how the rest of the world is dealing with this. They see an unstable USA govt. and will plan accordingly.

Ini the end, all this bickering will kill some small businesses in all countries, raise prices for consumer and do little to further the American economy.

Clinton, Obama, Clapper, Brennen & Comey, didn't rig it enough.
