He was shoved to the ground. One of the most vulnerable positions one is during a fight. He was given a split second decision - shoot this guy or risk being assaulted again (or worse). He chose to shoot him.
I won't second guess the man. This definitely should not be prosecuted. We don't need the government second guessing what appropriate actions people need to take to defend themselves.
Was is “self defense” or was it retaliation for getting shoved?
Once again the dead guy was backing away when he was shot. The killer was not, I repeat not, in danger of losing his life at that point. He should be arrested and charged with murder.
And once again this man had to make a split decision (entire incident from ground to shot was maybe 2 seconds) during a phase of heightened adrenaline. SYG applies if he reasonably believes he was in risk of bodily injury (doesn't even need to be his life just grave injury) and I can easily see why he would believe that in those couple of seconds.
He didn't fire at the guy when he ran away did he?

I can't say. To me, I estimate that 80% his motive was retaliation and 20% fear/self defense. But guess what? That 20% is above 'reasonable doubt' meaning you have to acquit.
Our system is designed to make sure we don't put innocent people away in prison even if that means allowing some guilty people to walk.

He had more than 2 seconds. The guy was obviously backing away when he shot him. Who knows what words were exchanged. And he still kept the gun pointed at him as the dead guy ran back into the store. He had plenty of time to asses the situation and not pull the trigger. He shot the guy because the guy shoved him, nothing more. He was of no threat to him once the gun was pulled.

He didn't initiate an argument. He should be able to tell someone not to park in a handicap spot. The moral of this story is don't shove someone because they may panic and just kill you.

Don’t confront people in their face. Hopefully he’ll do it again to someone who does more to him than just push him to the ground.
