If he was really threatened then he should have emptied the clip into the man until the threat is down.
He only shot once.
That is what we are told when police empty their clips into people.
I'm astounded that he was able to get his gun out and his shot off on dead center. Literally.
So after reading this thread, if I started parking in handicap spots and am not handicap, what would happen if someone confronts me about it and I ignore them?
They might chastise you, key your car, threaten you, fun stuff like that. Bonus points if you have kids around so they can witness firsthand mommy and daddy breaking the law.
Amazing what all can be avoided if you just follow the law.
I park in handicapped spots all the time when I'm just waiting for someone. I would have just told the "good guy with gun" to F off and stay in my car.
You make it sound like he is a frail scared old man, but that goes against his history where he has initiated aggressive verbally attacks against others in the past.

And that’s what the black woman did....
It was the now-dead-guy who decided to get physical with a stranger in front of his own 3 children.
Public confrontations aren’t good for your health. I guess a “Sorry sir, we will be on our way” was too much.
Conservative here... gun owner... have concealed carry permit.
To me it looks like the guy with the gun was looking for trouble and hiding behind the stand your ground law. This isn't the first time he's started an argument over a parking space according to the store owner.
If it were me I wouldn't have given a *#&# about the woman parked in the spot. I prefer to mind my own business. My gun is for my personal defense... it's not on me so I can go around starting arguments and and then shooting people.
I do think the guy shouldn't have pushed him... but he was defending his girlfriend? As soon as he saw the gun he had stopped and was backing away... IMO no longer a threat. It's hard to say in that situation what I would do but pointing my gun and saying something like "You better stop right there" may work because most people freeze or run when a gun is pointed at them.
I don't know if I would have shot him.
Of course if the gun owner had just minded his own business from the beginning the confrontation would have been avoided.

Really? I guess this is why I often can't get my daughter to the proper places in time and without too much hassle.
You really shouldn't. Independent of getting killed. It's like wiping your...well, check out tommy toilet...things that a civilized society and people do because...well, there are others around. http://citizented.com/?p=93
Hopefully the State Attorney makes an example of him and charges him with murder.
Meddling in other peoples business + Carrying a Gun+ Stand Your Ground is a recipe for disaster.
It gives any citizen the ability to provoke others and kill them if they fight back.
Exactly. In Florida you can start a fight, start losing, and kill the man who beat your sorry ass up and not be charged. Wonderful state. Glad I will never set foot there.
