I'm not sure that's relevant. I think I'd be equally offended with a black poster referring to a Senator as the N-word" or the like because that Senator believed she had African American roots due to oral traditions.

Yup. It's not relevant. The use of the name (it's a name, not a common word) denigrates both the historical person who bore it and a living Senator.
I live 20 miles from a reservation. They consider it a racist term when used so derogatorily, right along with the word 'squaw' which has always been hated by Native Americans.
The saddest thing about this is that without the real Pocahontas, the Puritans would have all starved to death. Her name should be honored, not used as a curse by an infantile old man.
I live in Mass and I can tell you that Granny Warren is a Loony Liberal that is always whining about some absurd outrage and whipping her followers into a frenzy so I'm not surprised that one of her people turned violent and punched her opponent in the face.
They denounce violence and call Trump a nazi but time and again we see members of the Left act out with violence against others that do not share their narrow views.
I have my fingers crossed that Warren will lose her seat this November but "yikes" that would free her up to run for the WH in 2020 and there are enough nuts out there that hate Trump enough that they would vote for a paper bag.
It is all of us who are violent...not all rightwingers or all leftists...I have family and friends on both sides of the coin, and they are not all violent...or mean with their words, or claim I am a racist for my beliefs....you have made this racist and violent just within the title of this thread...
What's even more ironic is that JAMS14's perfectly reasonable post would have been flagged as trolling and deleted if the other moderator had been patrolling this forum instead of you.
You seem to realize that tensions are high on both sides, and you moderate with an even hand. Unfortunately, some of your peers have been running interference for the alt-right. Spouting racist views is O.K.; calling someone out for spouting racist views is "trolling."
