How dare you say that about the Party of Science? Don’t you know they’re much smarter than you or I?

Based on what? The article a few posts ago says bone density after 10 years is normal.

This individual has been living out as transgender for years and doesn't agree that children should be given puberty blockers and should have the mental aspects addressed before making any kind of permanent transition.

If the transgender community only had this individuals logic and common sense, it would be much more helpful in bringing understanding to the rest of society. Funny how much of what they are saying is opposite of what we are hearing from the "woke" (for lack of a better definition) crowd.

It is actually a really good interview.

Puberty blockers are NOT a permanent transition.

No, but they cause irreversible changes/damage which is why they are so dangerous to those who don't think this through!

Well according to my daughter’s pediatric endocrinologist they can stunt a child’s growth. Since I didn’t want my daughter to be under 5’ tall I decided against them. And no, she didn’t want to be a boy. She was being evaluated for a physical medical condition, not a mental one.

You would think that common sense would mitigate against injecting children with hormones that prevent the natural processes that humans and most animals have gone through for millions of years.

You didn’t state it but often times it IS a permanent fix. The body can only go through puberty for a small window of time. If they take them too long then they grow up with a micro penis and it makes future surgery more dangerous. That’s what happened to Jazz Jennings. They had to fashion a vagina from his colon and he had all sorts of problems.

Puberty blockers should not be used this way. It’s off label and was never tested for this use. I don’t think anyone should ever give children puberty blockers (even for precocious puberty or to prevent short stature). We don’t know the longterm effects, but there have been many people who took these drugs when they were young that have early onset of osteoporosis. The problem will get much bigger in the future because so many more people are taking it.
