Being confrontational with Iran and flirting with military intervention as an option was a major part of his campaign.
On a side note, your post contained almost every right wing deflection, congrats. You had the media, leftists and Obama, no Hillary though, try to fit that in next time.
The U.S. is actively trying to collapse Iran's central bank by sanctions. The head of it just got canned two days ago after being labeled a terrorist by the U.S.
The Banking Families are pleased but not completely satisfied. They won't rest til it's theirs.
Iran is a harder target than people want to give it credit for.
It has both rugged terrain and civilized infrastructure.
It has people that are simultaneously educated and capable of using technology while living off the grid without any resources to deny.
I've been deployed to Afghanistan, and while the enemies there were largely uneducated tribals, imagine how much more difficult things would be if people with that mentality also had western social and technological knowledge.
American can beat Iran. America can crush Iran but, ONLY if we fight them like they are dangerous. This tit-for-tat crap don't work.
EDIT: That doesn't say what we should do with them... but if we do decide to hit them, gotta do it hard and fast.
